88-Year-Old White Supremacist Faces Murder Charges After Allegedly Shooting Security Guard
- "True....there have been and are now, religious fanatics all over the world.
That does not mean religion is bad, it is the people who abuse it who do the damage. You would no doubt, argue guns the same way, i.e. that it is not the gun that is a killer, it is the person behind it.
It is not religion that is the source of your disdain, it is people who have poisoned your mind."

Get real.
The simple fact of the matter is that if there were no guns, then there would be no gun-related deaths. That fact is undeniable.
Likewise, if there were no religion, there would be no religious fanaticism and no religion-related deaths.
I think your argument is flawed. Just because some religious people do not go totally crazy and kill does not mean that many other will, specifically because of their religious beliefs.
The problem isn't people, per se, the problem is religion itself, and the people who become infected with religious fanaticism. - Reply to this comment
- Religion ("faith") demands that you suspend rational thought, and once you do that, any crazy belief or action is possible.

There are many different religions in this world. I am not sure I know of which you refer to. But I can assure you that Christianity does not promote the suspension of rational thought.
Hate promotes the suspension of rational thought. Thought is something you could apply to your statements before you make them. Clearly you have a narrow and not so pleasant view of religion and I can understand that. But don't suspend your ability for rational thought by purporting that all religion is somehow an evil and something to be outlawed as you inferred.
Don't hide behind your hate. You will solve nothing.

You most certainly can, and we do it all the time, with virtually everything. It's called "relying on past experience" and it's the most common basis for our judgements and predictions.
These "three strikes and you're out" laws pertaining to handing out life sentences to habitual criminals is a perfect example. The sentence is handed down not for something the person has done, but for what it is anticipated they *might* do in the future, based on their actions in the past.
Religion has a very long history that is crystal clear -- and it's definitely not a pretty one. - Reply to this comment
- This guy was just a crazy old nut job....I mean there is no doubt the guy was vile and cruel and there is no doubt he should be punished....but the media should not make this an all out assault on so called "white" people either.....I really dont think most people are in the mood for that either. There is a lot of reverse discrimination as well in our nation and there is almost nothing ever said about that in the media. So in the end making a huge over drawn story of this will backfire on those who think that touting the "racism is everywhere" horn because of some crazy old nazi is not really in the best interests of the nation. Again to be sure the loss of a man's life is sad and unforgivable but to continue with this story as if to pound in to people's skull regardless of whether they are guilty or had absolutely nothing to do with it, is quite uncalled for with nearly 10 percent of the population out of work!

No, not a Nazi -- just another religious fanatic terrorist. The Bible produces just as many of them as the Quran does. It's time people woke up to that frightening fact.

- "Sounds to me like you have an issue with "dangerous insanity". Your post is highly reactive and a gross misrepresentation of religion and a malignment of it."

Everybody has an issue with "dangerous insanity" I think -- as well they should.
Religion deserves to be maligned; it is the essential "fertile ground" that fanatical delusion and mental illness (like the example reported here) grows best in.
Religion is intolerance. Religion fosters hatred and endless bloody strife. Religion is delusional and dangerous.
Would there even be a Holocaust Museum, a murdered guard, and a religious nut case lying in critical condition in a hospital awaiting trial for cold-blooded murder if it were not for religion?
Most of the "evil" in this world can be traced directly back to the insanity of religious dogma. That's just a fact. Religion itself is the biggest "curse" that mankind has ever known. The world would be a much better place without it. - Reply to this comment
- One more delusional right-wing nut job behind bars. Maybe we should be sending these idiots to GITMO. Von Brunn, Limbonehead and company are the real threat to Democracy. Thank goodness the looneys are making themselves visible and we can round them up. Unfortunately, we lose great people like Stephem T. Johns in the process.

- More proof that religion is based on psychotic delusions -- as if we really needed any more proof of that fact.
All religious people are delusional, and potentially dangerous, both to themselves and to everybody around them.
Religion should be discouraged, not encouraged. Rather than "respecting" the views of religious wackos we need to watch them closely, and be prepared to lock them away where they can't harm themselves or anybody else with their dangerous insanity. - Reply to this comment
- Blood Talk
What is it?
Its what all the ultra conservatives listen to and it drives some of them to kill people
For example, Oklahoma City......this included killing children
Who does it?
Guys like the head of the GOP.....Rush Limbaugh
And other people that he right wing conservatives listens to like Glenn Beck and Michael Savage
What should we do about it?
Tell your righ wing friends to change the radio station - Reply to this comment
