Comments on: New Hampshire Legalizes Gay Marriage
Gov. John Lynch Signs Bill, Making State The Sixth To Allow Gays To Marry
- I've always looked at the big picture -- my main issue, like a lot of others', is all about semantics. If civil unions could be enforced to have the same rights as marriage, then that's the solution. "Marriage" wouldn't have to be "redefined", and all legally bound couples would have equal rights -- if insurance companies can be forced by law to honor civil unions.

I completely agree. I think one of the biggest issues here is that their partners have no legal rights even if they've been together 20, 30 years... but two heterosexual people get these benefits instantly with a piece of paper saying they are married. Even heterosexuals have "common-law" marriages where you don't even need the piece of paper! I am heterosexual, but I can't see how it hurts me to let people who want to commit to each other go ahead and legalize the commitment. I don't care if they call it marriage or civil union or come up with some other name. - Reply to this comment
- So I have to wonder when New Hampshire will change the law so that those that like to make love to animals, like the person in the headlines the other day, will be allowed to marry.
Shouldn't his dogs be allowed to be on his insurance ?
And, every day we hear of another person being caught with under age porn on their PC. Suppose these people come out of the woodwork like gays did... and suppose there is a LOT of them... And, suppose they are militant... Does that make it acceptable ?
Religious, yes. No, I'm not a religious kook. I haven't been to church in decades. Yes, this is a personal choice. But, don't force your morality on me. Call it what ever YOU want, but a man and another man are never going to be 'married' in my opinion. - Reply to this comment
- AHHHH but it use to be illegal (see sodomy laws) and as abhorrent as pedophilia.
Personally I don't care if they get married, the problem comes from homosexual males who will flock to New Hampshire. Every time that has happened, the rate of pedophilia has gone up for young boys. It seems homosexual/bisexual males have disproportionate number of members with the morals of a dog in heat.

Armyoftwelve,
Really? Sodomy laws? There are still sodomy laws on the books but not as restrictive as defining anything but the missionary position as sodomy.
Now if you're intent on making up statistics as blatant as saying podophilia rates are connected to the proportionality of homosexuals in a community, you're free to make those assertions; just don't expect me to believe such blatant rhetoric, especially since you're assuming there has been past migrations of gays to New Hampshire.
"It seems homosexual/bisexual males have disproportionate number of members with the morals of a dog in heat."
More baseless rhetoric. - Reply to this comment
- This is such promising news! We are now one step closer to legalizing Same-Family Marriage! My brother Tommy and I have been in love ever since he was 16 and I was 12. We didn't choose to be born in the same family but we were! We deserve the same benefits as others who are in love! Now I have hope. Our day will come soon.

Too bad you weren't born in the time of Moses. Apparently incest was very "in" according to the Bible. - Reply to this comment
- I'm just curious -- once the couple are legally "married", are they entitled to be dependents on each other's medical insurance? What if the insurance company isn't based in New Hampshire? Do other states have to honor another state's marriage license?

- Now that I think of it, I think it was always "4 out of 5 dentists". That would put it around 80%!

- I just happen to like 75%... it's kind of like the "3 out of 4 dentist recommend Crest" commercial I remember from childhood.
But you're right, it's probably more like 93%, with about 6% that are correct but viciously manipulated.
