Rev. Alberto Cutie Leaves Catholic Church Following News He Has Girlfriend
- Can he get his talk shows back? On CBS?

- Catholics are leaving the church in droves. It will either change or lose many of its members. There are next to no young people becoming nuns or priests. Since the church choose to not have the nuns participate in social security or any retirement plan as the younger nuns were to take care of them, we have a lot of old nuns who are destitute. Even the church must change to survive.

- Good for him. God created man and he created woman for man. So now he is following the natural way he was created. And for doing this he is cheating on the Catholic church? But if he'd been boffing alter boys he'd be shuffled off to a different parish and that is OK? To fight creation is stupid and giving in to pedophilia is a felony. This priest is brighter than most of them, but would be brighter still if he'd obey all 10 COMMANDments. (as dilineated from other "laws" spelled out in the Bible. I wish him the best in his new life, becoming more normal.

- The fact is the Catholic Church allows for a married clergy in its Eastern Rites...the Byzantine Rite, Ukrainian Rite etc.....it's primarily the Roman or Latin Rite...which is the largest and most dominant in the the U.S. that is celeibate. Most Roman Rite Catholics are clueless to this fact...let alone non-Catholics and news reporters who rarely point this fact out in their stories. Check out the following Website:

- Well my last comment was deleted....
Anyway this has nothing to do with religous conscience, this has more to do with crotch. Nothing wrong with that.
Shows how pathetic all these institutions are, look how happy they are in the photo op, might get some more money in the collection plate... - Reply to this comment
- This has been one of the weaknesses of the Catholic Church, trasnposing the rather casual "advice" of Paul to a young Timothy into teh universal dogma of remaining unmarried while serving in the ministry. What of the actual living example of Peter, whose mother-in-law is clearly mentioned in all translations of scripture? If Jesus himself thought it perfectly right to be married while in His immediate service, why would we continue to demand this of our ministers today? Because a later Pope issued an edict? I think not!

- Aren't the Catholics twisted bout this defection, eh? The arch-Bishop in Miamai is inside-out.
Cutie was the poster boy for the Catholic church with Hispanics. Young, well spoken, thoughtful....he earned a lot of respect.
Now, he's a poster boy for rejction of church policy and will surely take many Catholics with him to the Episcopalian church. - Reply to this comment
