No loss, except that now Comrade Obama gets to pick someone worse.

And since you better believe that BO knew about this days ago, you have to wonder what kind of deal was offered to Arlen Specter so that the Republicans could not filibuster to prevent a socialist and communist from being appointed to the court.

You're awfully quick to throw around those "socialist and communist" labels.

It's a shame that you don't know what the words mean, and only choose to parrot your Fox News handlers, instead of actually learning what the words mean.

When historians discuss the great judicial minds that have served on the Supreme Court, I don't think the conversation will turn to Justice Souter.

"Souter's replacement isn't likely to cause any dramatic change",
Of course it will cause a dramatic change, Obama, will appoint another socialist who does not really believe in the constitution, and will use world opinion to make law.

Communism is great in two places, in heaven where it is not needed and in hell where it already exists. So socialist know where they are going.

If so-called conservatives had any ability whatsoever to govern honestly or competently, they'd still be in power.

Instead their eating sour grapes and whining.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

I look at Obama and think, what in Gods name have we let happen.

Political correctness happened.
Lack of Gods name happened.
Lack of personalresponsibility happened.
Lack of personal integrity and honesty happened.
Lack of respect and loyalty to our country happened.
Lack of being an America happened....................

You wouldn't know about being an actual American, unless you had a liberal describe it to you.

Until then, have fun wallowing in your muck and mire.

And so IT begins.

A justice judges, looks at the facts. A supreme court justice is neither right or left. They review to the best of their limited ability to rule according to the constitution, which in the big picture is a BAD BOY. A justice judges the specific case, which is why, one cannot predict what or how a justice will rule. What we need is a JUSTICE who demands JUSTICE.... always know how loved and blessed you are. With JUSTICE will come PEACE and the ultimate LOVE of alll who are our Sisters and Brothers. Light and the WAY...

Typical of you and your party to have selective memories. Oh and not to mention the Socialistic aspects of the first stimulus bill signed by your BUSH and all those Republicans. If McCain was President, the second stimulus bill would have bween signe dby all your phonies too! You and your fellow REPUBLICANS = HYPOCRITES! As soon as Obama became President your party became extinct my friend.

I am kind of surprised that Justice Souter is the first to retire. I thought it would have been Stevens, Ginsburg, or possibly Kennedy. This won't have much affect on the court. President Obama will probably replace him with someone with a similar left-center ideology.
