In Australia, while figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.

Ther has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the ELDERLY.

It has been 12 months since Australia was forced to surrender personal firearms to be destroyed by their government.
The first year results are in :

Homicides are up 3.2%

Assaults are up 8.6%

Armed robberies are up 44% --- YES 44%

In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300%. NOTE that while law-abiding citizens turned them in , the criminals did not., and the criminals still possess their guns.

I have never understood this "ownership" concept that some have about relationships.

People are never "owned".

A lack of morality led to this crime. Just like every other crime. Would you folks feel better if he was stabbed? Beaten with a bat? Thrown out a window? Run over with a car? Electrocuted? Poisoned? As long as its not a gun I guess it is fine.

Lack of morality maybe....it is more likely the guy was suffering from a mental illness and .....Hey,,,isnt this news article about a death by a gun?

Guns......Americans favourite tool for killing......The American right to arm oneself and to possess a gun the right to kill someone who maybe was having an affair with the wife, the right to then kill oneself.............in this day and age what nonsense!

America and Americans you are a great Nation, a great people, you have so much going for you now and in the future, even despite your stuff up of world economy, (another topic)......... but please come to your senses get rid of this gun culture..................

A LOT OF COPS ARE BURNED OUT ON THEIR JOBS AND IT ONLY TAKES ONE TO START A RIOT. COPS IN OUR SOCEITY SHOULD BE TESTED AND CERTIFIED ANUALLY TO SEE IF THEY STILL CAN HANDLE THEIR JOBS AS IT TAKES A CERTAIN TYPE PERSON TO BE A COP AND THEY HAVE CONTROL OVER YOUR LIFE AND DEATH. I AM A AEROSPACE WELDOR AND I HAVE TO TAKE A TEST AND BE CERTIFIED EVERY 3 YEARS. I THINK AT LEAST THE SAME SHOULD ALSO APPLY TO COPS.

Yo Aussie, what are the knife crime stats for the same period, along with crimes against persons like rape, robbery, assault, and other things people are less inclined to do in "right to carry" areas than they might be if they knew everyone not visibly armed was unarmed?

Ooops.

Hey Australia...hasn't your crime rate shot up since you banned guns?
Posted by jonesjep

No jonesp......the rate has gone down,,,,,,,,,,,,,,From 1996 to 2003, the total number of gun deaths each year fell from 521 to 289, suggesting that the removal of more than 700,000 guns from the Australian community was associated with a faster declining rate of gun suicide and gun homicide," My Source is from The Sydney University Press December 2006

Hey..anti gun nuts. This guy would have had a gun anyway. When are you also going to realize that 99% of the people commiting crimes with guns did not and can not obtain them legally in this country. They get them now the same way they would if they were banned. Hey Australia...hasn't your crime rate shot up since you banned guns?
