I would have loved to be a stay at home mom. I was more willing to make financial sacrifices than my husband. He has always thought I should work so he can buy his four-wheelers, hunting gear, fishing stuff, etc. Now my 18 year old is constantly in trouble & really headed down the wrong path. I attribute a lot of his problems to the fact that I wasn't home for him when I needed to be. God be with this family.
Husbands and wifes have to work. Gone are the one income home. It aint like that today. Women have to work. The children need to be safe and the drivers must do their duty to see to it children are where they should be. Poor grammar, spelling and puncuation aside: My husband I are not rich by any stretch of the imagination but we went without a new car, credit cards, big screen TVs and all kinds of stuff so I could stay home and raise our four kids. They are now successful, happy and healthy, never having ended up in jail/prison, all have meaningful careers that make them happy while providing for their families. I wouldn't trade one minute of my life, nor do I wish we had done things differently so we could have had nicer things, because I raised some pretty spectacular kids.
Oh, and my daughter is also a stay at home mom, choosing to raise my grandchildren in lieu of the finer things in life.
It's not a matter of being rich or not. It's a matter of loving your kids enough to want to be there for them instead of eating out all the time or having the newest, most expensive car on the block.
Money isn't what should be important but the lives of the children you bring into this world.
This does bother me and they do it here. My feels the same way. We see the children tied to ropes and I feel it is unsafe. We never did that years ago. They are tied to each other and if they should get the ropes catch in the lifts or a child should fall they would all fall. I am appalled when I see it but mind my busness.
Do you suppose this child's family doesn't care what happened? Stop questioning thier decision making and discuss the real issue....negligence by the daycare facility and its' employees.
If folks have to work to provide for a family and can not be there for them at 4 months old, why start a family in the first place?

Exactly. What is the point of having kids if you have to put them in day care when they are babies? What is the point in having them if you are too tired to spend time with them after a day of work? One of the reason that kids are so screwed up and out of control is that parents don't have time for them. They don't have time to listen to them or teach them right from wrong. They don't know where they or what they are doing. So what is the point??
The facts are, do with out new cars ,new homes, high priced clothes and all the extras,I stayed home for my three kids and did with out lots and lots of stuff.I am now 61 and just now getting some of the things I did with out, do I regret it no way I have very caring grown kids that were never in trouble. They take care of me and their grand mother.
Get real.. It is costly to live.. Price rent, food, clothes etc the family needs. Sure the rich can afford to have the lady of the HOME stay home..Not every one is that well to do. Husbands and wifes have to work. Gone are the one income home. It aint like that today. Women have to work. The children need to be safe and the drivers must do their duty to see to it children are where they should be.
I suggest that this could end if every day-care would make it the responsibility for someone (other than the driver) to do a "van check" every time children are transported.
What a terrible loss for this family. My condolences.
Did it ever occur to you that women work to feed, clothe and shelter their children? I would stay at home in a heartbeat...but then I wouldn't have a home if I didn't have a job! Banita Jacks stayed home with her kids, and they found all of them dead in her freezer! Posted by zumbamama
That is a sad but good example of how some children are better off in the care of other people. And yes, life is such these days that many women must work to keep households together. Just as Banita Jacks is an extreme, there is another extreme where a second income isn't necessary. Those people have the option of staying home to raise their children yet choose to work and let other people care for their children.
