He got caught, so he confirmed it and he said he was sorry only because he got caught.

I''m a Pittsburgher and live 4 miles from the ball park and haven''t been to a game in about 30 years. Funny, though, I was once driving through a small town east of the city and stopped to watch a few innings of a little league game there. And I saw baseball the way it''s supposed to be played. What has become of a national treasure in the hands of the dishonest and the greedy?

MissSuZQ: Garbage? The drugs that were taken may be a lot of things, but garbage they aren''''t.

davide73: crimes against humanity? give me a break. this is frigging baseball, and fans voluntarily pay their money to see the games. it may be fraud, but it certainly no crime against humanity. tossing people in jail for smoking pot is a lot closer to that

This guy is a poor excuse of a man; and a role model for kids! It seems they all have excuses for the *** they do and get into! Its never their fault! The only reason he''s talking any of this bull **** is because he got caught!!! What a coward and a wimp!!!

Roids have been used for years but that doesn''t make it o,k. Now, we will have grade school kids using steroids, someone will sell them to these kids, just like they do the dope. I''m not going to anymore baseball games. We have a church league here and while our church team loses it''s fair share, the chances of our old guys using anything is pretty slim, (mainly because there pretty fat). Who can afford to take their family to a baseball game anyway. Bud Selig should be thrown out, yerrrr out, as the Baseball Commissioner anyway. He hasn''t kept tabs on the players who are "dirty". All the owners of Baseball Fields spend billions of dollars when are regular old field would be just as good. I''m 70, I see my share of professional games, they aren''t as good as the feeling of seeing a small town team playing another small town..Strike one, Strike two, Strike three, I''m outta here.

The agents who negotiate huge contracts for the players and cause the fans to pay big prices for tickets should be thrown in jail and have the keys thrown away. Some of the owners are equally guilty. That isn''t free enterprise, it''s crime against humanity.

At least he owned up to it, unlike Roger "the truth dodger" Clemens. Who cares anyhow? The pitchers were juicing, the hitters were juicing, Sounds like a wash to me. Unfortunately, when these guys start developing mystery ailments then we''ll find out how much harm they''ve done to themselves. No amount money or recognition in the world is worth your health.

And what honesty did he show before being caught out.

Surely you are kidding yourself.

Apology is one thing and restitution is another. A-Rod received a lot of money because of is performance. How much of it should be discounted as that due to steroids? Someone should make an estimate and ask the player to donate it to charities. His contract with Yankees should be renegotiated so that incentives are built into it for performance without performance-enhancing drugs. I think that the Yankees have a good case as Mr. Rodriguez did not disclose his medical record, which includes drugs (prescribed or not), fully. The names of the other 103 players on the list should be disclosed and they should be treated likewise. Then, may the best man win the title and may the best team win the championship.

"And they still ban Pete Rose who just bet. What a bunch one for the books." -- Posted by antoniof123

Pete Rose didn''t just bet - he bet for years, and worse, he threw games. On top of that he lied, lied, lied for years. Those of us who started out defending him felt awful betrayed by the time he got done.

As for A-Rod: I''m sorry he did it, but I appreciate his honesty.

In a "60 Minutes" interview with CBS News Anchor Katie Couric which aired three days after the Mitchell report was released in December 2007, he denied ever taking steroids, human growth hormone or any other performance-enhancing substance.
----------------------------------

A-Rod is a liar, a very rich liar but a liar. MLB must now put an asterisk behind every record he "holds".

And MLB really dumps on Pete Rose for betting on himself to win!!

"Back then it was a different culture. It was very loose. I was young. I was stupid," he said.

That''s funny... He talks like it was a bygone era. It was 4 years ago!

The guy came clean right away and admitted his mistake. How refreshing. Now we can move on. Case closed.
