- Bloomberg is a Republican mayor of New York, but he is a moderate democrat based on the way he has governed. That aside, the rents reflect the market and for years the financial industry was doing well so of course New York being the home of Wall Street would have a high cost of living. Instead of giving us red meat journalism meant to start class warfare, why doesn''t CBS educate the ignoramuses in America about the economics of pricing for elastic/inelastic demand???
