State Asks Obama To Speed Federal Aid As Hundreds Of Thousands Still Without Power; Nationwide Death Toll Now 55
- Calling Dubaya and some GOP legislators conservative is a bit of a stretch. True conservatives are far more angry with the likes of DeWine, Chafee, McCain and the rest of the RINO''s who became Dumocrat-lite. We are headed back to the Carter years with double digit inflation, interest rates, and un-employment. Oh and of course there is that 10% reduction in the DOD budget announced late Friday after Rush was off the air. That 10% is just the first in what is sure to be a four year gutting of our defenses just like the GA peanut farmer did back in the late 70s. I bet Iran licking their chops at the prospect of Hussein re-opening our embassy in Tehran so they can grab some more US embassy folks. The only difference will be unlike Carter''s half assed rescue plan Hussein Obama will just shrug and say the white CIA *** had it coming. Oh but his buddy Ahmadinejad will let the black embassy folks go like last time.

- Cons love to rail on Socialism. But, after 8 years of wrecking our economy, their chosen leader signed a huge socialist bailout for banks that was borrowed from Communist China. Do you Cons wink and nod to each other when you bring up Socialism or are you completely obtuse to your dripping hypocrisy?

How about Ohio, it ranks right up there in unemployment. And Ohio has been controled by repulicans for at least the last 50 years. We have a dem governor now, but both houses are still controled by the repubs. - Reply to this comment
- skyking_239,
I know it''s tough. But, you have to help subsidize all those red states that don''t pay their way. Places like Kentucky. Kentucky loves the socialist funds it sucks away from the Federal Gov''t. - Reply to this comment
- stevador39..... I was born and raised in Kentucky and currently live in the Peoples Republic of Rhode Island a poster card for the Democrat party. Like NJ, NY, CT and MA the legislative branches of each of these states have been controlled by the Dumocrats for decades. We have the highest taxes in the nation. RI currently has the second higest unemployment rate right behind MI another bastion of liberalism. If you want to talk about basketcases review every state in this nation that have been controlled by Dems over the last 20 years. All are up to their eyeballs in debt despite higher per capita taxes. Of course they all are utopian enclaves like DC, Detroit, Chicago, and New Orleans. I will give Hussein Obama credit he is trying his best to make America just like these garden spots like the good little socialist he is.

- Thank you President Obama for not wasting vital tax dollars for a silly stunt photo-op and "Heck of a job Brownie!" moment. Thank you for not gumming up needed relief efforts by requiring extra security and resources for a unnecessary visit. Real Americans are behind you 100 percent!

- Does this mean Kentucky Fried Chicken prices are going to go up? I really like the buffet. I have to watch my budget and I hope they keep their prices low. The horses are pretty though.

What''s the difference does it make if goes to Kentucky or not. Whats he going to do fly around in a helicopter, and say yeah you have a lot of damage.
Kentucky''s ice storm is not Katrina. He''s given Kentucky and the other states hit by the storm federal aid what more do you want. - Reply to this comment
- Hussein Obama is a racist who hates poor white southerners and midwesterners who cling to religion and guns. Why else would he not visit the area or even offer some hope to these poor desperate victims of man made global warming. Say what you will about Dubaya he did visit New Orleans just 2 days after Katrina. Its been a week since the storm hit the bluegrass state and not a word from "The One". If the victims were rich Hollywood types he would be Ohhh soooo supportive. This hypocrite and false profit is going galvanize the right thinking Americans and no amount of slobbering praise from the press is going to help stem the tidal wave that is coming. Wake up America!

- Newsflash: Kentuckians decided today that they don''t want help from the Federal Gov''t. The mostly Republican populace has decided to walk the walk they talk. They''ve decided to react to this disaster in a way that reflects their daily stated values. They''ve officially decided to provide their own help to themselves; to pull themselves up by their own bootstraps so to speak.
In other news, a squadron of pigs flew over the U.S. capital today.... - Reply to this comment
- stevador39,
Fact: Kentucky is a net welfare state when it comes to Federal money. It receives billions more than it pays to the Federal Gov''t. If we wanted other countries to look at examples of how to pull your own weight, we wouldn''t want them to emulate our average red states. - Reply to this comment
- Does the Kentucky Governor expect the president to wave a magic wand and everthing will be back to normal immediately? It just doesn''t happen that way. The power companies cut crews a few years ago and rely on help from power companies from other states to help when a major storm like this happens. Most of the states surrounding Kentucky were hit by the same storm, so help from them is probobly not available.

- FACT: The people of Kentucky pay far more in taxes than the Third World Dictators that are living off billions of dollars of U.S. Foreign AID. When Bush paid off Third World debt; the money didn''t go to the poor it went to banks and dictators. Why don''t the misers who complain about Americans accessing benefits from their own tax dollars, complain about criminals wars costing billions every month and hand outs to dictators in the form of foreign aid?

In 2005, Kentucky received 42 billion Federal dollars.
Kentucky provided 24.6 billion dollars in Federal taxes that year.
Year in and year out, your average red state gets more Federal dollars than it pays to the Federal Gov''t. - Reply to this comment
- Another welfare red state begging for more handouts. Kentucky gets way more in federal spending than they pay in taxes. You''d think such a conservative state would have saved some of the money so it could buy more bootstraps for their people to pull themselves up by.
