- Isn''t this the same hospital that the murder/suicide perpetrator and his wife were fired from? I find it odd that this hospital is mentioned in two news stories on the same day.

Hmmm.... You got me wondering now. Where do you live, pythoncharly? Not your address, obviously, but.... Is it maybe drafty and kinda wet? Is there this kinda metal or concrete arching thing over it? - Reply to this comment
- Dagnabbit, IndepTex, they got all serious on the other thread and scared away the troll! So they can argue gun crime stats AGAIN.
Oh, well. Yes, I think in the long run the 6 boys will be easier to handle than 6 girls. Can you imagine the number of boyfriends you''d have to chase off with 6 girls hitting their boy-crazy teen years at the same time??? - Reply to this comment
- They chose fertility drugs in violation of gods laws,
hypocrits

Actually, the Vatican condemns in-vitro but approves of fertility drugs. This result sounds more like drugs than in-vitro. Voila, not hypocrits. Although, you still have not established that they are, in fact, Christians. - Reply to this comment
- So, are they available for adoption at 6 or 8 weeks? This is so sad, so many children who need parents and these people are pumping them out like watermelon seeds. I''m sure they''ll have to have a ton of volunteers step in to help. Just ridiculous.

Um...so much to respond to in one post...
First, you are aware that they didn''t get to choose the number of babies, right?
And second, how many babies do non-Christians have at a time from fertility treatments? - Reply to this comment

To be fair, there are plenty of kids from much smaller families who end up wandering the mall or being raised by their nanny, the television set. It would have been great had the couple adopted, yes, but some people just cannot imagine being able to bond with a child who is not their genetic offspring. Besides, we spend so much time in this country arguing about abortion and welfare that we forget to promote and educate people on adoption. - Reply to this comment
- When you hear about someone having octuplets, it''s almost always the case that they took fertility medications and not IVF. Eight babies;the new mother will need an army of volunteers to help her.
So far, the octuplet family has chosen to remain anonymous and release as few details as possible about the births. But if they do decide to sell their story, they could make millions from sponsorships, gifts and promotions. - Reply to this comment
- To bkylws: Wake up and smell the roses. These are not dolls, but real children, with real needs (many of whom, will have "special needs" because of their early delivery) and these parents will have to be millionaires if they expect to accomodate the needs of that many growing up in one house at one time. I would have preferred that they adopt and not mess with the traditional way of having children-----which is NOT by the LITTER! Are you aware of the cost of raising a child in this country, even without the most recent economic downturn, and exactly how will this couple provide a quality upbringing, to say nothing about emotional support. Most likely, each child will have less 1 on 1 attention that the television set. Can''t you see the connection between that type of parenting and the excess number of self destructive kids floating around the Mall in your neighborhood. You might consider reading about the medical issues common in any "premature" infant, let alone trying to raise eight of them at the same time. Get your head out of the clouds (or anywhere else you have it stuck) and wake up to real life 2009!
