Definition of "Satisfaction Guaranteed"...

a pledge or assurance; specif.,

"a pledge that something is as represented and will be replaced if it does not meet specifications."

I believe that the dry cleaner offered to replace the pants..this guy has to have a screw loose or something...not to mention he''s wasting MY TAXPAYER DOLLARS to do this...he''s the laughing stock of DC & still he continues...imagine how embarrassed his family must be...lol...sad

"If you guarentee something you must back it up. He has sued because Custom Cleaners failed to live up to its promise of "Satisfaction Guaranteed".

So when the owner of the cleaners offered to purchase this idiot a new pair of pants to replace the pair that was lost/damaged, that wasn''t sufficient? The moron had to pursue the matter until this small business owner was shut down.

You people have failed to see the real issue here. The value of the pants or even the minor inconvenience of the lost pants has nothing to due with it. It has every thing to do with buisiness practices. If you guarentee something you must back it up. He has sued because Custom Cleaners failed to live up to its promise of "Satisfaction Guaranteed." By not backing up your advertisement you are commiting fraud. It also has nothing to do with the crazy amout named in the case. Pearson knows the law and he is trying to make an example out of this type of fraud and the amount he is suing for gets him free press coverage. More power to him if this helps to keep businesses in line and keeps some of them from cheating people with false advertising.

The cleaners offered to pay to replace the pants. The "Satisfaction Guaranteed." would seem to be fulfilled if they offered to fully reimburse the customer. Wouldn''t you consider the $54 million suit amount a bit beyond asking for customer satisfaction??

THAT JUDGE SHOULD BE PUT IN JAIL, AND HE WAS A JUDGE.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE. THERE SHOULD BE A LAW AGAINST THIS. ITS JUST SO STUPID. AND THATS RIGHT IF THE JUDGE LOOSES THE CASE HE SHOULD HAVE TO PAY THE DRY CLEANER 20 MILLION FOR PAIN AND SUFFERING

Let him sue with the a caveat. File the lawsuit & the let the court hear the arguments. The jurors deliberate & come back with the winner. If the judge wins the jury decision he gets the $54 million from the little dry cleaning store.(Good luck collecting that.) If the little dry cleaning store owners win, the judge has to pay them the $54 million. (Bleed him every day until he''s broke---See OJ & the Goldmans) That (cough) judge would drop the case quick.

This guy is the poster child for run away litigation. If he is trying to make his case the reason for tort reform it is working. He should be allowed to sue and when his case gets thrown out he should be required to pay for all of the legal fee''s for the other party, court costs and pain and suffering caused by this mockery of a law suit. I bet Pearson is trying to save face in his weird sort of way. I hope everyone remembers this clown and he never works in the law profession again.

"He should be disbarred..."
Actually, he was already penalized some: he''s a ***former*** judge because his appointment was not renewed. (Apparently the judges who decide on such appointments thought he was an idiot also.) But I agree that that may have been insufficient.

My commentary is that the legal system has become a lottery ticket: it costs little to play and the payoff can be huge. Let''s increase the costs: loser pays the costs of the trial (including reasonable costs for the winner''s attorney). That creates a strong disincentive to idiotic suits... and an incentive to mediate or settle even the valid ones.

OK, the folks on the Left are now crying "Foul" because the above takes away the poor''s "right to sue". But...
1) There is no such "right" in the Constitution. It''s a fiction created by contingency-fee attorneys to line their pockets.
2) The Court can decide on the level of "reasonable" costs, including waiving them for lost suits where the loser cannot pay even though the suit had some merit.

This is a nut case. He is totally crazy and a true case of racism. I am white but I dont belong to the KKK. This Nut needs to go back to Africa and start all over again. Our Black citizens do not act this way. Maby he was a white guy who was a member of the KKK and was beat Black because he was so stupid. Any way we need to make sure he is never a true Judge again. I hope at his new hearing the 9 Judge panel will put him in jail for wasting their time.

I''d like to sit on a jury to hear this trial. I would find it difficult not to roll around laughing as this fool tried to make his case. Judgment for the plaintiff in the amout of one pair of pants and for pain and suffering, a strait jacket.

Looks like racism to me. he wants something for nothing.
I think he is a nut job royal and needs to find a real job, like working in a dry cleaners for a year or two and then he will understand what it is to work for a real living.

Send this nut job packing to someplace like Gitmo. Let him help out terrorists.

This judge is a nut case going after a small business with a 54 million dollar lawsuit. He is a nut job, the owners of the cleaners probably only make enought to survive. He is probably causing alot of stress on the poor couple. Mr. former judge drop the lawsuit and leave the little people alone, stop bothering them and causing great stress on their lives. If they get sick because of you , shame on you sir.

I''ve seen three year olds better behaved than this jacka$$. What a waste of time and money!! From what I''ve heard his idiocy caused the owners of the dry cleaners to have to close their business. Can you say frivolous lawsuit?? I think the owners should sue the a$$wipes who allowed him to file suit to begin with!!
