Hey ,
At the end of WWII, America had a World Economic Monopoly. All developed nations were Ruined and Destroyed

except for America. Consequently, all other nations were Forced to purchase from America at our High Asking

Monopoly Price which raised our Standard of living thru the Roof.

Today, America got No World Economic Monopoly. Americans are forced to lower their Standard of Living in order to

have a chance to Compete with these same Foreign Now-Developed Nations.

I do not Blame or Credit Capitalism for our Standard of Living in the last 60 years. I credit Nazism and Japan

Imperialism for the aftermath of WWII.

DebinOK1.....................are you complaining because you are negatively affected by their actions or because what they are doing is wrong? what would you do in their situation if you were, say......a CEO. My point is that this is a societal problem: 95% of people would do the same thing if they were in the same situation. Its what we preach- "me-me-me." if you only care for yourself and your family, without identifying with an American community, you will or would do the same thing.

And just in on the wire:

WASHINGTON %u2013 The Federal Reserve has granted a request by the financing arm of General Motors to become a bank holding company, allowing it to petition for money from the government''s $700 billion rescue program.

As a bank holding company, GMAC Financial Services will also be able to get emergency loans directly from the Federal Reserve. Without backing, GMAC could have been forced into bankruptcy protection.

The Fed said it had determined that emergency conditions existed because of the crisis in the financial system.

The Fed''s decision comes five days after the Bush administration said it would tap the bailout fund to provide emergency loans to General Motors and Chrysler LLC to buy them time to reorganize and avoid having to file for bankruptcy.

If they cant get it one way they get it another and screw the taxpayers once again.

william7721.................the neo-liberals will continue to try to change peoples mind in order to validate their lifestyles, though. they preach diversity but act like a fool when Obama has a republican or a church preacher on his inauguration list. Pure hypocrisy. Its all about self serving politics with them.

william7721......................actually you are most likely to find cocaine, money for prostitutes and escorts, and tickets to get-a-ways at the cubicle desk. The family pictures are no longer there because we have destroyed the family system (look at the divorce rate etc.....). Buddy, we have a problem.

pythoncharly ..................a lifestyle that keeps America alive, not destroy it with these self consumed, self-serving, self destructive, and me-me-me politics. Its not what your country can do for you, its what you can do for your country. Until we have a standard American identity, a standard american moral compass, and a standard american purpose, we will continue to destroy America. These business did what each and every one of you fools would do: look at for yourself in self interest. This is what is preached by the "self-interest" principle. Our poor lives on an income three times that of the average of 80% of the world but we continue to be spoiled brats thinking that we are owed everything. The country will not survive like that.

Folks,
I recently found out why Bush''s Tax Cuts of 2001 and 2003 were never made PERMANENT by the Republican Controlled Congress of at that time.

These Tax Cuts were made to expire next year because the Republican Congress believed these tax cuts are harmful to the Economy. Therefore, the Republican Congress wanted to limit the Negative Impact (damage) to our Economy.

This is why these Tax Cuts were never made Permanent in the 1st place the the Republican Congress and of course President Bush.
