In the world we live in today with everything that is currently taking place in our economy and everyday life WHAT THE FREAK IS THE MATTER WITH EVERYONE?

The question was possed "Why do they want to marry"...hey IDIOT why would ANYONE want to get married! FOR THE SAME REASONS YOU WOULD! "Your a purtty smart feller you are!"

Have you ever thought that they are NOT trying to REDEFINE marriage but just wanting to take part in it as they always felt they should? I personally have viewed marriage a comming together of two PEOPLE (FYI...not animals). So maybe, it is your definition that has the fault my friend? We have adapted MANY new meanings to terms over the years to better suit our needs and this is just one of them. GET OVER IT!

As far as some comments about "shoving" this down other people''s throat. Have you ever stopped to think that they have had enough of it put back on them? They can not go one minute without feeling the differences that society pushed on them so maybe, just maybe, it is time for you to feel some of the issues/pressure and start making a difference instead of sticking your thumb up your butt and crying it hurts.

Ultimately, our day will end and new futures will emerge from this world, good and bad. I would like to think that the issues that we as humans cause each other can be overcome before the next generation must endure this BS.

I commented that ''no'' means it is no longer legal to have a marriage between two people of the same orientation. Never once did I say it was a positive or negative that the people of California actually marked on the ballots. Since the only argument you seem to be able to come up with is to chide my choice of wording you opinion means little to me. How are my facts on WWII? How about on the countries same gender marriage is legal? You see, I actually did put thought into my comment before I posted it. Feel free to criticize me when you actually have a valid complaint, not nit picking for the sake of it. I do not hate anyone based on their race, religion, creed, preference for partner or shoe size. It seems to me the overly defensive seem to be the people who didn''t get what they wanted in a public vote. Once again, get over it. It isn''t happening this year. Funny, I haven''t read a story on this news site about the pro-lifers throwing a pity party because abortion is still legal. Seems all I hear about them is they are going to re-lobby and try again. I am married, and I''m straight, there are benefits that I get legally from being married that gay people do not get with a ''domestic partnership''. (Ok, I know I''m gonna take a knock on this one, but cut me some slack, I have a new born, I''m exhausted) I can''t remember the specific benefits, but I''m pretty sure it has to do with taxes and what not.
