Yes, after you take time to educate yourself about the different world religions & philosophies it is so hard for me to comprehend how people can ''cling'' so tightly to the bible being ''the word''. - Reply to this comment
- Want to know who are the most flagrant violators of "separation of church and state" (which by the way, the phrase is not even in the constitution, declaration, nor bill of rights)?
The atheists, by insisting on the absolute exclusion of references to religion by the government, cause the government to "establish" the religion of Atheism, which they ARE forbidden from doing.
Makes me crazy that the phrase "separation of church and state" is from a paper/speech by one of the founding founders. Yet the same constitutional revisionists, who love that phrase, do not want to hear anything about what was meant then, but want judges to re-interpret everything for today. Hmmm...nice double standard. - Reply to this comment
- slownewsdaze: You know you can talk to these ''believers'' ''til you''re blue in the face & get absolutely nowhere, they are so narrow-minded. BTW, have you had a chance to see any episodes of the ''Universe'' series on the History channel? I caught ''Parallel Universe'' last night, AMAZING philosophies were presented on that episode. Mind-boggling & very thought-provoking.

- I was particularly impressed with your waiting until the third and final debate to make up your mind on the presidential election.
I don''''t know of anyone that did that, other than you.

- It is called freewill. It is a God given right to either believe in God or not. Unfortunately, those who don''t believe tend to hate those who do. The reason it affects us that do believe is because we believe that God is indeed our protector. We believe that without God our nation is headed for disaster. For the last 30-40 years, since atheist have forced their way of belief on our government, things have not gotten better but they blame everything else except the fact that they want God removed from everything because it offends them. If atheist, satanist, agnostics or anyone else thinks that people who believe in God are going away, they can think again. The same anti-christ spirit that resides in you has been around for thousands of years and Christians are still here and always will be, if you like it or not. You can burn the bible and throw us to the lions but in the end you will die and face judgement just like the rest of us, until then, you can keep believing that you are your own god. Isaiah 66 So will I choose their delusions, And bring their fears on them; Because, when I called, no one answered, When I spoke they did not hear; But they did evil before My eyes, And chose that in which I do not delight. (You take your chances and do that in which He doesnt delight and I will do my best to do that in which He does.) And they shall go forth and look

Gentlemen, as much as I would like to take credit for the quote I posted, I have to say it is something that the original "Hungry" posted and I liked it so much, along with some others that went with it, that I saved it.

- The scientific powers that be have adopted the belief system of evolutionary theory, which is no better supported by the scientific method than any supernatural belief.

Au contraire - science has provided thousands of papers over 150 years giving evidence to the theory of evolution. The only evidence for creation is a book of fairy tales five or six thousand years old, written by people who had no knowledge above superstition. Just because creationists can ferret out that one fact in a billion that MIGHT throw a small shadow over evolution doe NOT make them correct. - Reply to this comment
- Because they need to destroy religion in order to validate their immoral and self indulgent lifestyles. Well, sorry to inform atheists but the down economy will only create a more religious mind and movement.

- Good sounding statements skysoldier, but can you tell me that nonreligious secular governments have faired better?
Soviet Union, China, etc. Maybe it is human nature, not God, that is the problem. Religion gets blamed when religious people do bad, but who do you blame when atheists do the same thing? I have seen religion used as an excuse, but I have also seen race, language and imaginary national lines used by people to do great evil. - Reply to this comment
The misguided clause in question was obviously inserted into that law by a member of the "American Christian Taliban" (the "ACT").
The world will be a much better place when we, as a species, "grow up" mentally and emotionally and finally liberate ourselves from religious delusions of all types. No religion''s claims have ever had any actual basis in fact or reality, and all religions are ultimately dangerous and destructive to our species as a whole.
No theocracy has ever been pro-freedom or pro-democracy. All religions structure that which they control around their own strict rules and hierarchies.
They all reject the equality of women, and the essential dignity of mankind itself.
Each religion wants to eventually destroy all the others and claim absolute power over everyone and every thing.
The primary personal motivation for professing "faith" is a totally selfish personal desire to somehow survive one''s own death, and what is so noble about pure selfishness?
Religious intolerance will always be cause for war and conflict.
Who needs it? It''s all just an antiquated behavioural relic left over from our cave dwelling days, when our ancestors feared the dark and the thunder, and devised stories to reassure themselves that they would somehow survive the frightening unknown.
It''s way past time to shove all that silly superstitious nonsense into the past, once and for all, for the good of all mankind.- Reply to this comment
- Science and evolution are not one in the same. The scientific powers that be have adopted the belief system of evolutionary theory, which is no better supported by the scientific method than any supernatural belief. The whole idea takes it''s foundation in the assumption that it is scientifically impossible for God to exist, since he would have to be above physical principles. Even though evolution is statistically impossible, it is believed that it must be true to explain our existence. Again, the only reason that evolution becomes the only logical explanation for our existence is that the alternative of God creating things is boldly thrown out as an option.

That''s why I brought them up. The didn''t just wither away. The competition for habitat killed them. They were forced into a severely restricted habitat. Then wasn''t it a climate change that killed them off. It got too hot for them, and their bodies couldn''t stand the heat. Probably failed to reproduce.
All it takes is one generation failing to reproduce, and the species is extinct. - Reply to this comment
