"Tell the Cambodians that we will be friends with them," Kissinger told an official in the region, according to a declassified State Department account. The Khmer Rouge "are murderous thugs," he said, "but we won''''t let that stand in our way."

I get so tired of hearing how irresponsible the republicans are....There is not one single responsible official in Washington on either side of the isle , they are all bribe taking crooks who have sold out the people of this country and are all committing TREASON.

Until George W. Bush, I never thought I would be nostalgic for Richard M. Nixon.

It''s a weird world.

Bill Clinton was the chief law enforcement official in the United States.

That title doesn''t belong to the Attorney General?

Nixon was caught breaking into Duke Law School after hours in an effort to change his law school grades - main reason Duke refused the offer of his presidential library.

Remember Nixon was one of Joe MacCarthy''s lawyers during the HUAC hearings.

The fact he ever got to the position of presidential nominee goes to show how irresponsible republicans have always been.

Nixon is just the same as all the other presidents we have had and will have in the future...he just had the unfortunate luck of getting caught at it. Yes, I liked him and he did bring us home from Vietnam.

So I guess say bank robbery is ok if you don''t get caught? Or murder?

You rightwingers have no morals or ethics at all and should never be put in any position of power.

Bill Clinton was the chief law enforcement official in the United States. He was impeached for lying under oath in a legal proceeding. I am a lawyer and know that perjury needs to be severely punished no matter how justified you think it may be. Had Nixon or any Republican provably lied under oath, he would have impeached for that too. Clinton was barred from practicing law and fined by the Arkansas Supreme Court (which he probably appointed) because of his felony. He was also disciplined and suspended from legal practice by the U.S. Supreme Court. His perjury was not something that should be sloughed off by any law abiding citizen.

I never thought I''d miss old Tricky D*i*c*k* but Bushit sure made him look pretty good in hindsight.

Nixon was crazy as a bedbug, but he was extremely intelligent, and the craziness got in the way.

Nixon was talking to the Chinese and the Russians when nobody else wanted to. He probably kept us out of a terrible war with Russia, and I always had great respect for Henry Kissinger''s Shuttle Diplomacy in the Mid-East.

Too bad he was a crook because he really did know his stuff. But like so many he trusted his friends and his friends were the worst of the bunch in fact it was them that got him into trouble with the law.

Now listen I will not argue that Nixon was a crook he was PERIOD. He accepted a pardon from Ford and that means he knew and so did Ford that he was guilty of crimes that we the American people will never know about.

Too bad we have not learned from this experience and we will be doomed to repeat it until we learn from it.

Nixon was just another in a long line of political crooks from all parties that have abused their leadership positions.
