The lesson of Iraq is that invading a country to effect regime change can be a costly proposition that doesn''t enhance American and international security one bit. We should focus more on improving our domestic security infrastructure and investing in technology to defeat terrorism around the world.

Funny how you demonize them for everything they ever said politically, then turn around and use them to justify genocide.

None of them gave the order son, Bush did.

He lied, and you continue to support his lies, even after Bush himself lied again and apologized for "faulty intel", which is an admission that he was wrong, but also a continued avoidance of blame.

"And since the absence of WMDs means there was no "clear and present danger", Bush''''s order to invade based on lies was indeed an unlawful order.

WHOA liberal...

The absence of wmd does NOT equate to unlawful order.

You made a huge leap there dude.

No, the absence of U.N. Security Council authorization to invade Iraq EQUATES to an UNLAWFUL order. Only the first of many following an act of CRIME against PEACE, and numerous othe WAR CRIMES for which there is ABSOLUTELY NO STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS for prosecution thereof. See, there is a silver lining.

A hope of bringing a death sentence to this sociopath isn''t much justice for all those who have suffered, but hope springs eternal, right?

"Given the choice between military intervention and an inspections regime that is inadequate because of a failure to cooperate on Iraq''s part, we must choose the decisive reinforcement of the means of inspections."

"Imagine the consequences if Saddam fails to comply and we fail to act. Saddam will be emboldened, believing the international community has lost its will. He will rebuild his arsenal of weapons of mass destruction. And some day, some way, I am certain, he will use that arsenal again, as he has ten times since 1983."

All this tell is that Saddam was a bad dude. But sending our men and women into Iraq and underwrite this war essentially on our own is something else entirely.

Personally, I don''t really care what some commission study has to say. This kind of fear tactic has been going on for ages and quite frankly, I am tired of it. If it wasn''t the Cold War fear concept, it is the WMD fear concept.

Look, do you really think that if there was positive proof an attack would happen, it would be leaked to the public? LOL Panic is not what they want. Control is their gig.

What an idiot? They know there is a chance of war when the join. They also choose allegiance to their Commander in Chief regardless of who it is. I guess under your philosophy, you should be able to join, but call b u l l s h i t and refuse to go if things get hairy?

Going go war is a decision made by the commander-in-chief, not by the generals, and certainly not by the troops. You were saying?

Shortly before his untimely death, former British Foreign Secretary Robin Cook told the House of Commons that "Al Qaeda" is not really a terrorist group but a database of international mujaheddin and arms smugglers used by the CIA and Saudis to funnel guerrillas, arms, and money into Soviet-occupied Afghanistan.

"... When Osama bin Laden was an American agent in Afghanistan, the Al Qaida Intranet was a good communication system through coded or covert messages.

The truth is, there is no Islamic army or terrorist group called Al Qaida. And any informed intelligence officer knows this. But there is a propaganda campaign to make the public believe in the presence of an identified entity representing the ''devil'' only in order to drive the ''TV watcher'' to accept a unified international leadership for a war against terrorism. The country behind this propaganda is the US and the lobbyists for the US war on terrorism are only interested in making money."

"In the next century, the community of nations may see more and more the very kind of threat Iraq poses now -- a rogue state with weapons of mass destruction ready to use them or provide them to terrorists, drug traffickers or organized criminals who travel the world among us unnoticed.

If we fail to respond today, Saddam and all those who would follow in his footsteps will be emboldened tomorrow by the knowledge that they can act with impunity, even in the face of a clear message from the United Nations Security Council and clear evidence of a weapons of mass destruction program."

it dose not matter what name its given,as long as it keeps folks in a state of panic, afraid of their own shadows, the government has you right where they want you, living in fear. fear is one of the oldest methods of controling vast populations.actually its just an old dope fiend move:i take the focus off me by putting it on something or someone else,if you want to know whats really going on just watch the movie zeitgeist. just type it in your browser, it starts off kinda slow but just give it a chance.you will see things in a diffrent light.

"Al-Qaida, literally "the database", was originally the computer file of the thousands of mujahideen who were recruited and trained with help from the CIA to defeat the Russians...

The organization grew out of the network of Arab assassins, arms smugglers, drug runners and paramilitary mercenaries who had gone to Afghanistan in the 1980s to fight under the banner of Islam against Soviet Communism.

During the anti-Soviet jihad Bin Laden and his fighters received American and Saudi funding. Some analysts believe Bin Laden himself had security training from the CIA.

In the early 1990s Al-Qaeda operated in Sudan."

So the neocon idiots think that Bin Laden would be allowed to "quit" the CIA while still alive, with all their dirty little secrets in his head...

Don''''t talk to me about the cost of lives. Our soldiers are over there of their own volition.

Iraq was Bush''s decision. The men and women who join the military do not exercise ''volition'' in this matter.

Leave it to our Liberal Media to give our enemys all of the details and stratagies necessary to carry out an attack on US soil. That will generate for them great press and ratings. Especially, reporting the number of deaths resulting from each type of attack. What a sports cast for the terrorist.

Were one to map terrorism and weapons of mass destruction today, all roads would intersect in Pakistan, the report states - so the question remains - why do we want to waste American lives and money in Afghanistan?

"The hard fact is that so long as Saddam remains in power, he threatens the well-being of his people, the peace of his region, the security of the world.

The best way to end that threat once and for all is with a new Iraqi government -- a government ready to live in peace with its neighbors, a government that respects the rights of its people."
