Man Who Died In New York Wal-Mart Stampede Was Temporary Worker
- I refuse to shop at walmart because of the way they exploit their employees. The sad thing is this was not the only episode of people going crazy to get the sales. I never go near a mall or any other store on black friday. it is just plain stupid.

- The part that really got me was when the customers got irate that the store was closing due to the man''''s death. That just puts the icing on the cake. Why should one innocent man''''s death cause a delay in their self-indulgent frenzy? And this was all in the name of Christmas...the day we celebrate the birth of the Prince of Peace.

and yet, no comments about Walmart closing the store at the news of the employee death and clearing out the customers--only to reopen an hour and a half later to get that money? Talk about a truly brief ''moment'' for grief. - Reply to this comment
- See if next year they call the Black Friday sales DoorBusters again. Advertising did it. The economy at the hand of corporate greed did it.

- Before all of you HATE mongers of Americans go off and throw all Americans in that stewing pot being greedy, look at all the faces there at that particular Wally Weird; many of them are very multicultural, perhaps more so than you would like to admit. EVERY Christmas, me and my family go out and spend for dog and cat food, blankets, towels, newspaper donations, dog & cat treats because they basically have NOTHING. We brought these animals out of nature into our society to be our "pets" and when they stop amusing us and grow up or get old, we "dispose" of them as we do almost every thing in our lives. I quit celebrating Christmas YEARS ago because I see what has become and now, it resembles NOTHING what it means. The Son of God''s birthday means NOTHING anymore, don''t want to offend anyone who believes anything else, skrew YOU, I will celebrate any way I choose, if you don''t like it, go back to where you came from. Real Americans do not act this way, but others here recently have no problme acting out as though they were in their own country or their religion is the only one. Labels are for those who want to have life both ways, and I am NOT a Christian but I do believe in God because all life is for living not just existing.

- WalMart knew how many people were in line - all they had to do was look outside. They could have done what so many other stores do - have a few people outside to do crowd control. Of course, they set up the sale so as to encourage shoving, with a limited number of items scattered in the store, fastest runner gets the reward.

- Don''t get me wrong I don''t like wal=mart but just because they are *** heads still does''nt make the crowd right.

- Wal-Mart.
Scum. - Reply to this comment
- How about putting the blame where it really counts and that is on the the crowd that has no orderly behavier. Not the man who was not trained to stop a stampead. It is not wal-marts blame . Just because they have a sale does''nt mean every body can do what they want.It was a lack of self control. Here we see another display of left wing thinking. Well it was walmarts fault for having a sale. NO! What we had was people who chose not to act in a civil fashion in their circumstance.Being afraid that some one is going to get a deal before you does''nt authorize you to risk others lives. But .. We know that those involved were more concerned about a deal than human life. That man could not stop those who are not willing to be stopped. So should wal-mart have concluded that the people outside were not orderly and said ( we are ''nt having a sale today because every one will be disorderly) then they would have had people wanting to sue for character defamation. Crazy world out there.

- American advertisers, marketeers and retailers have created this pathetic consuming nation that views an XBOX360, etc as absolutely critical to personal satisfaction.
Far too many Americans are illiterate fools who allow themselves to be manipulated on all manner of things.
Wal-Mart through gross negligence and incompetence set the stage for this tragedy. They need to be sued for many millions, with a portion to go to this family and the bulk of it to go to promote organized unionization of the Wal-Mart workplace. The latter would help the safety of Wal-Mart workers and provide better enforcement of labor laws than anything the government could impose. - Reply to this comment
- This is an example of the true meaning of an American Christmas.

Sadly you are absolutely correct.
If I were Bush (or Obama), I''d have the FBI find the names of all those who participated in this riot. Those individuals would then be sent to Afghanistan for 2 years of mine sweeping duties. If they refused, they would be executed at dawn as traitors. - Reply to this comment
- Scallywag8--you are so very right. Only greedy Americans of our current days could destroy a holiday steeped in religion and traditionally viewed as a time of great reverence for family and the general goodness of life itself. We have turned the "joy of giving" into the depravity of greed---and use our children and other loved ones as a facade to explain away our deplorable actions. Sad and pathetic...My heart goes out to this man and all those who will miss him.

- What kind of a world do we live in when a sale is more important than someone''s life? Nobody cared, they got ignorant because the store was going to close because of this man''s death. No regard for human life because everyone is all about themselves. Also, if a store knows that they are going to have a crowd like that, they should have security in place for when the doors open but obviously they don''t care either or this man wouldn''t be dead.

- How very sad that people were so greedy that they could kill someone for the all mighty "SALE", and for the people to be so upset that the store closed because of this man''s death...try telling that to his family,.. "Excuse me....I needed to get that extra pair of gloves and socks and the employee was in my way...", to those people that were upset, I hope you ALL BURN IN HELL....YOU GREEDY PIGS!!!!!!!, When you are all home with your familes, try telling that man''s children "Merry Christmas" and try to explain to his family that his death is because of your greed...you ALL should be ashamed of yourselves for killing this man....
To Wal-Mart, for no crowd control...Please....you work ALL your employees to death and pay them pennies for ALL the abuse that you inflict on them, you are just as guilty because you walk all over your employees and don''t even have the kindess in your bones to thank the empployees for what they have done to make you rich...
If everyone is in that big of a hurray to buy that present for the game sport, TRY BUYING YOUR GIFTS EARLY AND WRAP THEM AND PUT THEM AWAY, WITH LESS KILLERS OUT THERE, MAYBE ONE MAN''S LIFE COULD HAVE BEEN SAVED... - Reply to this comment
- They only sell cheap *** at walmart. *** turns people into savages.

- The people in this crowd should be absolutely ashamed of themselves - to act like livestock or wild animals to score a cheap TV or video game system. Sure Wal-Mart shares some responsibility, but the real blame and the death of this poor man rests on the shoulders of the people in that crowd. They should check video surveillance to see if they can find any of the people responsible or who acted more recklessly than others. A man''s life reduced to the value of cheap TV''s and socks. Very sad.
