America''s military had been decimated and down
sized/right sized since the end of the Vietnam War. A
poorly trained, poorly equipped and poorly organized
military was called on to execute a complex mission
that was doomed from the start.

Shortly after the Tehran experience, Americans
began to be kidnapped and killed throughout the Middle
East. America could do little to protect her citizens
living and working abroad. The attacks against US soil
continued.

In April of 1983 a large vehicle packed with high
explosives was driven into the US Embassy compound in
Beirut When it explodes, it kills 63 people. The alarm
went off again and America hit the Snooze Button once
more.

Which democrat led us into a treasury draining unnecessary war, while allowing the people that attacked us to go free without putting forth a serious effort to capture them?

Posted by IwasHungry68

The history of terrism against the US goes back to Iran and Jimmy Carter (Democrat) in 1979.

It was a cool fall day in November 1979 in a
country going through a religious and political
upheaval when a group of Iranian students attacked and
seized the American Embassy in Tehran. This seizure
was an outright attack on American soil; it was an
attack that held the world''s most powerful country
hostage and paralyzed a Presidency. The attack on this
sovereign U. S. embassy set the stage for events to
follow for the next 25 years.

America was still reeling from the aftermath of
the Vietnam experience and had a serious threat from
the Soviet Union when then, President Carter, had to
do something. He chose to conduct a clandestine raid
in the desert. The ill-fated mission ended in ruin,
but stood as a symbol of America''s inability to deal
with terrorism.

It is convenient to blame politicians for every bad thing that happens, but regarding the failed mortgages, there are others to blame. Try looking to the borrowers who didn''''t do the math to figure out that they couldn''''t actually afford a house. I did, and therefore, I didn''''t buy one. Consequently, I didn''''t lose it. The other guilty culprit in this scenario are the greedy lenders who thought if they were making bad loans, they could always sell the paper to another lender.

Too bad the bottom finally fell out from under; now we all get to pay. Isn''''t that nice?

Go back and reread the article. It is the lender who is supposed to say ''No I am not lending you the $$, your job won''t allow for you to pay the ARM.''

You are absolutely wrong.

Thanks for insulting me. I think I''ll print that out and take it to my lawyer.

But I doubt that will cut down on troll activity, which consists mainly of Bush-bashing and then refusing to defend what they said. Who knows? Maybe Bush will sue CBS for cyber-bullying. LOL!

Will we still be allowed to post "LOL?"

OK, now let''''s have a nice little in-depth article about who put the lousy regulations in place and forced banks to make bad loans.

Those congressmen and politicians are the real culprits.

Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, Bill Clinton.
You can thank these 3 Democrats for your economic meltdown.

_______________

Actually, it was GWB who took the creit for deregulating the banking industry back in 2004 or so, if I recall correctly. Remember when he came out all smiles and happy about the ''new regulations'' that freed-up banking and limited bankruptcy rules? I claimed at that time that this was not going to go well for everybody, only the bankers. He/we let the fox guard the hen house with that one.

From the above article, ''Diane Casey-Landry, of the American Bankers Association, said the industry feared a two-tiered system in which banks had to follow rules that mortgage brokers did not. She said opposition was based on the banks'' best information.

"You''re looking at a decline in real estate values that was never contemplated," she said.

Some saw problems coming. Community groups and even some in the mortgage business, like Welch, warned regulators not to ease their rules.
_____________

Perhaps the three most significant paragraphs in the entire article. ''...decline in real estate values that was never contemplated,'' Geeze, guess someone missed that ''what if'' in all their greed -one of the seven deadly sins.

Somewhere in The Bible Jesus talks something about this asking what king would consider taking his 1K man army against a 10K man army and deciding whether or not he can win. If he decides he can''t win he goes about seeking peace before the battle. And what man decides to build a tower before he has enough $$ to complete the tower. These are improtant ''what if'' questions.

He said they were going to start moderating the boards after the first of the year or sooner.

Good. I hope that will cut down on the repetitive posts and the posts that are mostly blank lines.

It would be nice if they would cut down on trolls who just change the subject and argue in circles after you prove them wrong. But I doubt they will screen content that closely.

overlook the fact that 7 RINOs sponsored the Commodity Futures Trading Act back in ''''99 that was the root deregulation cause of the Credit Default Disaster.
