The sad fact is, that in most stampedes, there is mindlessness--this is why it is illegal to shout fire in a crowded place. The store should have set up precautions like TArget did--including removing people from the property and removing any runners before and after they entered the store.

It does no good to threaten, scream, yell or anything else in a scene like that. My sister was one of the victims of the party stampede--she fell, and was ran over by dozens of people--of course, others were tripped and fell due to her being in the way.

Think about it--this is not just about greed--but poor planning--people stampede and riot when NOTHING is involved--it is what happens when too large a mass of people are congregated and not managed--that is why there is such a thing as CROWD CONTROL--because if a large crowd becomes panicked--NOTHING stops them--not guns, not police--nothing--but police and security and baffle stands, etc can prevent a lot of tragedy

Did a gun go off in the crowd at Wal-Mart?

People being trampled to death at soccer and cricket games in Europe are routine. Those who stampede MUST do so--once the pushing starts if you try to resist the mass behind you--you WILL become a victim.
It is STUPID and unproductive to simply try to blame certain people for running over that man--most likely, they did not intentionally step on him--but to avoid being trampled themselves--they had to keep moving.

Years ago, at a university --there was a party in the large sports arena. All of a sudden, there was the sound of shooting and people just became panicked and ran--we HAD to run with that crowd--in the end, several people were hospitalized--not for gun shots--but because when we ran--we came to locked doors encased in glass and mesh--those in the back did not realize there was no way out and kept shoving and pushing those in front--a few people even climbed the mountain of party goers. In the end, the doors burst--people were impaled on the glass and wire and several people had their ribs crushed. Most of the people talking about this have no clue of what occurs--neither does this police dept

to keep from being crushed, you must run with the crowd--most people who are killed are either suffocated or trampled--in both cases--to be suffocated or trampled means that victim STOPPED running and became resistance.

If you surge against me, you will never do it again.

Actually being surged a few times is a recurring fantasy of mine. But that''s a different topic.

I would guess that cwby probably means "cowboy", ht probably "hat" so this guy is "cowboy hat".
Most likely has the silly hat and pointed girly boots.
The requisite 3 yellow teeth. Strutting around chewing tabaccy, and spittin'''' everywhere. A cultured individual by Texas standards.
This is the pride of the Right Wing. Dumb hick mules, too stupid know how to behave.
THE PERFECT EXAMPLE OF SARAH PALIN''''S "REAL AMERICAN"

Thats right. My hat is a symbol of America. A symbol of everything you hate. I would be glad to help you find your way to Venezula. See how you like the way Hugo Chavez runs things.

Whatever, I''m still going shopping in the morning at Wal Mart. Those who are too dumb to stay out of the way of surging crowds are not.

Based on this video clip, it appears that no more frenzied shoppers were allowed into the store while paramedics administered CPR. I''m also presuming then that there were police in the store. The police should have rounded up all of the frenzied shoppers and held them for questioning. Whatever shoppers were in the store at this time had to have been part of the trampling of these individuals or witnessed who caused it and should have been questioned and perhaps charged.

We''re obviously dealing with morally bankrupt individuals and something like this is proof that there is a diminishing level of moral and civil behavior. Notice how none of these uncivilized crazed neanderthals have even bothered to turn themselves in? No, it was more important for their selfish ignorant actions to charge, trample people and save a few dollars on something they didn''t really need. Saving a few bucks is always preferred over these types of mongrels to that of treating all people respectfully and courteously. Low class mongrel low lifes, all of them.
