Trust me; regarding procreation, we are in no danger of dying out anytime soon.

You imply that somehow divorce rates mitigate Gay Adoption. It does not.

Says who? Are you the decider of what mitigates gay adoption? Your argument is totally based on procreation of the species. So what does this say then about adults who are heterosexual who do not choose to procreate. I am sure you have an answer for this too.
Bottom line, procreation and continuation of the species does not justify a ban on gay people adopting children.

VoidMaster: "Your [swin5] argument is not even logical because not all men are 20 feet tall."

It is funny--he showed the flaw in his own argument unintentionally. If you start from an invalid assumption, any conclusions you make based on that assumption are not proven.

All men are 20 feet tall. I am a man. Therefore, I am 20 feet tall. Do you know why this argument is logical and not valid?

Homosexuality refers to who you are, not to what you do. That you pretend not to understand the difference is not selling very well; neither here nor in the world at large.
swin5,

The act of murder is an act of aggression by one person against another. That is what makes it wrong. But an expression of passion is not an act of aggression and therefore, it is not in and of itself wrong. It merely offends you. And for that, you seek to deny basic humanity to an entire group of people.

"Again, having red hair is who you are, homosexuality is what you do. "

Nope you are trying to twist the argument, but your logic is not sound. The law under discussion was directed at people not behavior, as has been well pointed out. Applying pure logic to real life is always challenging and often pointless, but ultimately you have shown no reason why gay couples should not be able to adopt a child or two or more.

you have to wonder where all this fear of gay people comes from? psychologically it is people who fear things in themselves and project on others. culturally it seems to be that giving gay people equal rights would just be a big yawn--not much would change. Then what would the cultural bigots do after their warnings turn out to be only baseless sound and fury? Who would listen to them next time? Why would anyone THIS time?

Again, having red hair is who you are, homosexuality is what you do. And by the way, I''ve had two college courses in logic, one taught by the School of Philosophy and the other taught by the School of Mathematics, and both courses at two different 4 year universities. Trust me - I know logic.

All men are 20 feet tall. I am a man. Therefore, I am 20 feet tall. Do you know why this argument is logical and not valid?

To voidmaster

And by your logic, it would be better to place a child in a home where they would be sexually and physically abused then in a home in which they would be murdered. Will you stop and consider the logic of your arguments?

I already have considered the logic of my arguments and know that it is valid.

By contrast, being gay in no way inherently equates a person with being a murder or a child abuser or anything else. Further, your attempts to associate with horrific acts, how gay people express passion, reveals your desperation in this matter.

swin5: "Didn''''t anybody study logic in school?"

Looks like you missed that class eh? Muder and pedophilia are crimes, not types of people. Homosexuality is not a criminal offense anymore than having red hair is.
