Sounds like a great plan! .........I just hope that Bush and Halliburton/Carlisle doesn''t get involved in anyway shape or form.

The current Commander -n- Thief and his loyals have ruined this country with impunity and a careless disregard for the "have nots"

To all of you dream nothing - do nothing, idiot, naysayers.....Walk West until you sink back into the slime from which you came.

This plan is for our future and that of our kids....
For anyone not supprting this plan on its fundemental values, decency and its principles should be deported.

The president can not do everything, the people of this great nation must help! Support american made products and companies.BUY AMERICAN whenever possible!Stop making other countries rich while we take money away from our own people.Buy locally made products and services.Only WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!!!!It won''t be easy but anything worth saving never is.Give it a try and see the difference it makes in the long haul.

unions are the only thng protecting a decent wage and benefits for many workers...

I have 2 college degrees, both 2 year degrees, ine in electro-mechanical systems and the other in Computer Information Systems. I have had multiple jobs in my lifetime, and i have 20 years experience in robotic troubleshooting. My union job is the only job that has offered me a solid wage and benefits. In fact Imoved my family across the country for the job after year after year of sub par jobs. All other jobs I have had have short change me in the wage department, and do not include health care for my family nor do they offer a pension plan.

I make 65K a year with health care and a pension... Now try telling me 65K for a 20 year skilled technician withmultiple degrees is too much. Now tell me who ids going otoffer me a similiar opportunity.

People who blame unions have no clue.. Most union shops have an average salary of $50K with benefits

Republicants hate the fact that Obama is going to make job creation in America a number one priority.

Instead of public works, what if......

The Congress buys all new cars that are energy efficient from US manufacturers starting immediately.

Advantages:

1. About the same cost
2. Creates good jobs
3. Saves on energy
4. Motivates the car makers to innovate.
5. Reduces government energy cost
6. Etc.

Lots of other options than building roads with immigrants and illegal aliens.

My father worked in an FDR public works project and lived in a work group when he was about 19.

He had 7 brothers and sisters who were starving that needed the food.

Not the same now.

WWII started and he became a pilot and made it through.

I suspect you would have to speak Spanish to work on Obama''s public works projects.....

Times change.

ilsadago,

Lots of jobs for RN''s here in Texas and elsewhere in the country.

Average national salary for RN''s is $76K if I remember right......

Healthcare has added 270K jobs this year. Must not be in Michigan.

I forgot what FDR called it but this sounds just about the same thing. One thing - before it becomes law, both parties will have a whack at the proposal. Good ideas should survive whereas bad ones should perish.

It doesnt matter what you were trained to do , the important thing is jobless people need work, even if it means doing something different or even manual labor, At 52 i have found work doing manual labor in the oil fields of west Texas.the work is hard but the pay is good , there are jobs out there to be had ...if you want to work,a lot of unemployment comes from people who do not WANT to work. The citizens of this country are paying for following party politics and not paying attention to a congress that was steadily ignoring the people,For the last 40 plus years the people of this country have taken a backseat to the lobby dollar and now the problem has come home to roost.Greed and the lobby dollar have taken America without firing a shot....unless you count Bushes folly of being a warmonger.
