That''''s not an opinion; that is a fact. And, why don''''t you follow your own advice?

Typical response for somebody who pretends to know a lot about a particular subject but doesn''t really have a clue.

I think you need to tell the truth. Those are the "facts", and here''''s another: per capita, more domestic violence occurs in the homes of homosexuals than it does in the homes of heterosexuals.

Either post your source or keep your silly opinions to yourself.

Traditional marriage caused its own loss of sanctity and respect. The blame for it goes all around, but i don''''t see this blame as applying to homosexuals. Perhaps hollywood, which sets up unreasonable expectations, or has people getting together based on looks, or whatever.

Heterosexuals do have to accept responsibility for their marriages. However, looking at the numbers from one county, is fairly telling.

Marriage was opened up to anyone and everyone. So yes, rixmix, I believe it to be true. Marriage was basically rendered obsolete. By allowing anyone to become married, traditional marriage lost sanctity and respect; people no longer viewed it as the important and sacred foundation of a healthy society, so everything else fell by the wayside.

Norway, which accepted gay "marriage"; in the nineties, has seen marriage rates plummet, with 80 percent of firstborn children and 60 percent of subsequent children are born out of wedlock. Allowing homosexuals to marry does not expand the definition of marriage: it renders marriage obsolete.

You are kidding me. You really think that allowing *** to marry caused a decline in the number of heterosexual marriages?

Please. At least make it believable.

ok so i don''t understand what the problem with you people are. what makes you hate gay marriage so much. why can''t one loving couple have the same rights and the other loving couple no matter what their sexual orientation is? we live in a free country and able to make whatever choices we want to make. i would like to meet someone that gay marriage personally hurts them, not just because they have thier opinion on the topic. anyone? anyone? thats what i thought. just think 40 years ago it was illegal for blacks to marry whites. now its common amongst americans and there aren''t any problems. people still have their opinions about it i''m sure but there aren''t any problems....same situation. peoople just want to be happy. gets your heads out of your ***** and realize that times are changing! gotta have pride!!!!!

Exactly what will happen that is so horrible if gay people start marrying?
Posted by rafterman1

Good question. Those evil homosechuals will be getting rights, those pesky rights that good God-fearing couples take for granted. Oh wait! Most of those ''proper'' marriages end in divorce - the most dangerous thing to happen to children. Good God! We need to band ALL MARRIAGES!

Then, as a gay couple, have a civil union. Leave marriage out of this. Marriage must stay between heterosexual couples, one man, and one woman.

Then your problem is with the government. It is they who use this religious term to define the civil union of couples. Talk to your redumblican friends.

You need me to define "dumbing-down" for you? The very term is a definition in and of itself.
Posted by miriambk

Does this "dumbing down" apply to such things as las vegas weddings? how about "who wants to marry a millionaire"?

Okay, listen. I have MANY gay friends and who they choose to be with doesn''t concern me in the least, unless of course, their partner of choice is out to hurt them in some way. I''ve had gay roommates, we''ve been on vacations together both nationally and internationally, we''ve worked together, when something has gone wrong with a relationship or a job or with family or whatever, I''ve held their hands, wiped their tears, stroked their heads and fed them copious amounts of wine (and sometimes tequila), and they''ve done the same for me. The very idea that I am "anti-gay" or out to hurt people and deny them legal rights is absurd. I simply think that marriage should be between one man, and one woman. One lesbian friend of mine would KNOCK ME OUT if I ever tried to have an abortion; we disagree on this issue, but it doesn''t mean that she loves me any less, or I, her. Nor does it indicate a lack of respect. In the end, some things simply need to be preserved, and on this issue marriage needs to be preserved as a union among heterosexuals. Go and fight for every right afforded to straight, married couples, but leave marriage as it always has been.
