- whatithink10, Who are you arguing with? I would have taught blacks to read and attempted to get any that I could out of slavery. But that doesn''t change the fact that many whites thought that they were better than the blacks back then. And yes, they denied education and other things to the blacks who were considered inferior. No one is defending slavery--so what''s your point?

I say the only race that matters is the human race. This superficial stuff is meaningless in the long run. We are all still evolving.
