Says Parishioners Should Refuse Communion If They Voted For Democrat Because Of His Abortion Stance
- Please Reverend, how can you say that there would be more children''s lives lost?? Unwanted children raised in horrible conditions could hijack more airplanes! No one likes abortion but you should not judge your own parishioners, you just might be wrong.

- The Reverend Jay Scott Newman of St. Mary''s Catholic Church in Greenville, S.C., could not embark on a KKK journey being fat as a pig, was oriented by his Klan to be a priest!

- No man, Catholic Priest or otherwise, should have a voice in the abortion debate. This is about a woman''s choice to continue a pregnancy or not. If any special interest group gets Roe v Wade revoked, then abortions will not stop. SAFE abortions will stop.
While I am Pro-Choice, I don''t think abortion should be a woman''s primary form of contraception. Woman, educate yourself and your daughters about contraception. Don''t believe for one minute that your teenage daughter isn''t sexually active. Give her the tools she needs to make informed decisions.
Roe v Wade has been a law since 1973. - Reply to this comment
- "It was absolutely inconceivable that a Catholic could say, ''I could vote for this otherwise extraordinary man and hope that the consequence won''t be a widening of the abortion license and an increase in the number of abortions,''" Newman said.

Well, if you weren''t such a knuckleheaded fool, maybe you might think that with Obama the number of abortions might go down. With proper education and access to safe birth control, it may cut down the need for abortions. OH, I FORGOT!!!!!! You don''t APPROVE of birth control, or the morning after pill, or condoms. You have no solutions, just empty rhetoric.
I seriously hope none of your parisoners take you seriously. - Reply to this comment
- Lost Gospel, the book of Q
oops. It looks like those books Constantine tried to banish and burn have turned up. Some of them are older (true) versions of the New Testament.

- I was raised Catholic and stopped going to church years ago. No one has a right to tell me, that I need to accept as many children as G*D is willing to give me, that if I am raped or a victim of incest and become pregnant that I have to carry that child to term or for some other reason I feel I can not.
Having a child or not is a very personal choice and should be left to the woman and her doctor.
I personally would not have an abortion - but that does not mean I want to take the choice away from others. Everyone''s situaton is different.
And the last group of people who should be speaking up on this type of issue is the Catholic Church.

- In order for a church to maintain its tax exampt status, it must walk a very fine line when supporting a politician.
In this case, that fine line has been crossed, and almost any aspiring citizen or lawyer could rake this church over the coals of a very not, and legal fire.
If I hear of such an effort, I would probably support it.

- This reminds me, using the church to influence an election is illegal for entities which pay no income tax. The Roman Catholic church cannot be a tax exempt entity.

- Fine if the reverend would also like to dictate that every parishioner that has ever donated to the Catholic Church must do penance based on so many cases of Priests that molest boys, they so be it. Until that dictate is made though I can not, will not, and pray that God opens the eyes of the fool and hypocrisy.

- "The women think they are giving permission for medical research, when in reality, they give profits to abortion clinics to sell fetal body parts."
...and they are used for what - medical research - that''s what stem cell research is. The religious leaders of this country are doing their members no favors by allowing them to spout opinions based largely on ignorance. You at least owe it to yourself to learn about what you are nmaking a stand about. - Reply to this comment
- The majority of Americans would not choose abortion, yet the majority also believe that it''s a personal matter and don''t believe that others should stick their nose into it...I think that it''s between God and someone who choses to get an abortion, that''s acceptable to the way that Christianity works for me. In the US, laws are made by the government, not the church...churches enjoy tax-exempt status because they have agreed to stay out of politics and matters of government. If churches feel a need to get more involved in politics, they should do what''s ethical and correct by giving up their tax-exempt status. The US will turn into exactly the kind of country that the founding fathers were fleeing if we continue to allow churches to believe that they should be running government.

- McCain is for fetal stem cell research. This increases demand for abortion. A dirty little secret about abortion clinics is that they sell fetal body parts to researchers. The women think they are giving permission for medical research, when in reality, they give profits to abortion clinics to sell fetal body parts. So, is McCain really pro-life? Better read that Padre.
At least Obama is promising the promotion of adoption. So Padre, who is really more prolife.
Ignorance is not a virtue. Our Lady of Fatima said that. She wanted the children to learn how to read.
Maybe you should too. - Reply to this comment
