- Many forclosures are a reaction to the liar loans that unethical loan officers at greedy lending companies dished out to many many people. Giving out Interest Only, No Income, No Asset verficiation, ARMs with prepayment penalties to people with FICO scores of less than 600 who only had to put down 0-3%. Hmmmm.....with the risk factors flying there, I can not imagine why anyone is suprized.

So I''m wrong about a foreclosure mess in America? - Reply to this comment
- About two years ago there was an article in Sacramento, CA on how only 30% of the people there could afford housing there based on the job market. I''ll bet you could substitute Sacramento with just about any major city in America at the time.
With that information out there before all this happened it''s amazing that no one in a position of power and influence chose to anything about the impending doom.
It would seem that all those people with a higher education are just as stupid as a high school dropout.
Less than a third of the people in an area can afford the housing based on the job market and no one saw the foreclosure mess coming? Perhaps this should be used to judge Political retardation. - Reply to this comment

so you take away the right and replace it with a fee?

Everyone should be given the right to vote from birth that they can exercise at the age of 18. It should be easy to keep a database with this information including a picture if the person doesn''t have any other form of id. - Reply to this comment

Very true.
How do you get someone to vote against their own self-interests? Tell me to hate the poor without telling them they are also considered part of the poor by you. - Reply to this comment

I''m also really sick of the GOP enablers. They''ve bought into this "divide and conquer" philosophy. That is, "As long as somebody else is getting screwed worse than me, I don''t care what the people above me do." - Reply to this comment

He was correct.
The uneducated should not get degrees.
The poor should not get houses.
But the ENTITLEMENTS ATTITUDE perputrated by these Dummycrats made this problem as bad as it is right now.
But YES you are a WHINER and snotty nosed fool.

1.) If the uneducated didn''t get degrees, you''d have nobody to vote for between Palin, Bush and McCain. Oh, you don''t mind the uneducated rich getting degrees. That''s right. You just don''t want the poor to get a chance to do better than you. Keep ''em stupid.
2.) The poor have been buying houses for decades without a problem. Why shouldn''t someone buy a $50K house if they make $20K? Warren Buffett has been lending to the working poor for years and he has been making a good profit from it.
Also, if the poor weren''t allowed to buy houses, a lot of people who are middle class TODAY wouldn''t be so and they were able to buy even in the 1940s with THE NEW DEAL.
3.) Trickle-down was nothing but an entitlement program to the rich and I still want to know when Reagan expected to give us our money from social security that he stole to fund his tax breaks to the wealthy! - Reply to this comment
- scb1111_1,
I suggest you do some research on the only reason why Bill Clinton was elected. Reaganomics has been the economic theory used throughout the last 30 years. This whole, free trade, free markets, globalization STARTED WITH HIM! - Reply to this comment

no. because people who have nothing are totally vulnerable to someone who promises them everything.

Then you can''t vote either, because the GOP promised you that although the rich would screw you, they''ll screw someone even worse than you...so keep your mouth shut. - Reply to this comment

- scb1111_1,
I suggest you do some research on what happened in 1999 and 2000 related to Phil Gramm. That''s what started this mess. By the time the Democrats took over, the disaster had already happened.
