After Election Measure To Ban Same-Sex Marriage Failed, Court Decision Allowing It Stands
- fist off let me just say. i think it is nasty to see 2 guys kissing or being affectionate in public, but the mere fact is, this is not about me. 2 guys marrying eachother doesnt affect me. i dont pay more taxes because of it, my way of life is not disturbed by it, so i dont understand why states will put this motion for everyone to vote on. i understand people wanting to make sure marriages are conducted based on the bible, but the last time i check, marriages are a joke this days.
Divorce rate is high, people marrying for money, adultry is off the charts and this are the same people who turn around and tell homosexuals they cant marry. i think we(non-homosexuals) need to stop wearing our emotions on our sleves. because i remember many years ago, blacks and white werent allowed to get married because they taught that would destroy the core fabric of marriage. i cant imagine how that would have affected me today because i have 2 beatiful mixed boys and a beautiful white wife. - Reply to this comment

- This is a religious issue that should not even be under discussion except in some church pulpit. There is a Separation of Church and State in this country. Or at least there used to be until the religious hacks and Bush started shoving their sickness down the rest of the countries throats.

I''ve been saying this all along! Instead of giving gay people the right to marry, abolish the power of the state to recognize marriage altogether. If you want to get married, do so and have it recognized by the church of your chosing. I understand there are legal aspects to consider; so why not change those laws? - Reply to this comment
- I don''t know what the government is doing in the marriage business, anyway. To my way of thinking, couples (same gender or not) who want to be in a domestic partnership would get that license from the state, and they would be able to have all the rights and obligations of a spouse. If they want to take it further, they can find a church that will marry them. If none do, well, that is not the business of the government.

- If FreeSpeech''s verbal flatulence were to be taken as an example, belief in a god would have to be considered a mental illness.

- Homosexuals call themselves "Gay" to help with the guilt induced depression.
I feel sorry for them. I wish they could be at peace with GOD. MOST were molested and abused as children and need help.
It is a mental disorder. Enabling them to get married will not help with their problem but will devalue the institution of Marriage.

How is it going to devalue marriage any more than the heterosexuals (including myself) have? - Reply to this comment
- Marriage is a ritual, It is societies blessing on a healthy partnership between one man and one woman, ideally for life.
Homosexual mostly engage in cheap meaningless *** with multiple partners.
Pedophilia and Homosexuality are both mental illness%u2019s and should be treated the same.
What ever rights child molester get, Homosexuals should get the same. - Reply to this comment

- The homophobes and self-righteous never cease to amaze me with their BLATANT bigotry against homosexuals.
Their arguments are mindless and useless as a means of perpetuating discrimination.
It will take time, just like it did for blacks, but the discrimination will be dismantled. - Reply to this comment

Of course you can, and should. Everyone should decide for themselves what is right and wrong. It would be a hell of a lot more real to people than the meanderings of someone from a 2000 year old text. - Reply to this comment

- God is good and I love God with all my heart. So with that I can honestly say that although we voted for the opposite side, we are still bound by something better and stronger, and that my friend is our love for God

I''m with you there but that has nothing to do with what we were talking about.
I just said it''s baffling to me how one can vote democrat as a Christian because of the abortion(murder) issue that is an across the board product of liberals.
Christians did not push for such a murderous act to be passed at Roe v Wade. We''re the ones who face persecution for fighting it.
Nobody said anything about God vanishing. I think Obama''s election just goes to show that this country''s decline in morals is evident, because I don''t know how any Christian in their right spiritual state of being could cast a vote for Obama when they look at what he stands for, especially on the abortion issue. - Reply to this comment

I had to run. And it appears you are vehemently against those of us who believe in God''s Word, the Bible.
It appears the Bible terrifies you because you don''t want it to be correct. Otherwise you wouldn''t be bringing it up and using it for your mockery.
What exactly makes you not a bigot towards those who believe in the Scriptures? - Reply to this comment
- But I know by moral laws you mean word for word the laws & principles of the bible. Ridiculous.

You didn''t answer the question. Where do you draw the line?
If you''re going to make the absurd claim that the perverse sin of homosexuality is ok, you''re going to have to make the same claim with pedophiling, incest, and other sexually perverse sins.
Nobody said anything about not following the Golden Rule.
You''re just using that as an excuse. I want to know where you''re drawing the line on sexual sin and why you are picking and choosing what YOU think is morally correct and what is not.
Homosexuality is a sexual perverse sin like all the others are.
You are however trying to pick and choose so you aren''t held accountable.
But that''s not the way it works with the Lord, your Creator.
You can''t "pick and choose" what is a sin and what isn''t a sin. - Reply to this comment
- First do you agree that Darwin''''''''s / My Theory is reasonable?
posted by freespeach
Darwin''s theory is absolutely absurd.
Now answer the question:
How did intelligent life come from non-intelligence. And how did life come from non-life?
You continue to defy all common sense and logic if you make the claim that life just "sparked" on it''s own one day. Stop dodging the questions and answer. - Reply to this comment
