Barack Obama's Landmark Presidential Win Inspires Optimism Across Generational Lines

The problem was you weren''t listening to him, you were listening to what your ********** pundits were telling you their version of what he said.
President-elect Obama (boy it feels good to type that) has always said that it wouldn''t be easy. He has always said that government couldn''t solve all the problems, that we would have to solve many ourselves, in our own communities.
None of the quotes you attribute in your post are true, so either you were paying attention to the wrong people, or you have your own predilection for prevarication. - Reply to this comment
- "Yes "WE" did. That implies that the black voters were responsible for Obama being elected. I guess our white votes didn''''t count." Posted by chicks2023
Yours didn''t, you obviously voted for the other guy. - Reply to this comment
- Why do some white people think that only black people are on welfare? There are 38% of white people on welfare and 37.2% blacks on welfare. There are only 12% of black people in the nation. Now if all 12% of black people voted Obama would not have won so do the math. The problem is that with Obama being half black this is history in the making of course black people are going to be happy. Were whites happy when Bush got in the White House?

- The way you idiots were celebrating , you''''d think the savior came down to run for president. Everyone is in for a rude awakening.. even Obama himself, when he realizes that the he can''''t deliver on most of the promises he made.

I''m willing to bet the NEXT house payment HE will come a lot closer than the Fascist did. They Cut Taxes to the rich alright, the rest of the promise they made when they took over a nation in great shape, with a Balanced Budget and Surplus, was one of the BIGGEST failures in American History. - Reply to this comment
- Well the smooth-talker, bought his way in. I have a great idea, in four years lets base our vote on the candidates beliefs and values (no campaigns), and take the billions and fix this world. This idea deserves a Nobel!! Could you imagine what we could have fixed with all the money Obama wasted on buying his way into office. No wonder so many countries hate us all, that money could have helped people everywhere!!!

I gave $200 of my hard earned dollars to Obama and do NOT regret ONE CENT. I''m so tired of conservatives telling me what I should think, how I should feel and how, if I don''t follow the "Party" I''m going to be sorry. I''m SORRY I listened to any of them and the "Party" in the first place!! - Reply to this comment
- It''s time they were accepted. It''s long past time really!

- My daughter who is 10 went to school yesterday and her teacher said " why shouldn''t we vote because of color and she turned and looked at my daughter who is the only black student. I told my daughter you should have said to this white teacher did you only vote for McCain because he was white. I also told my daughter that her teacher should not have had that conversation with children who can not vote yet. Why did she not teach the kids that anyone can be the President of the USA no matter of what color they are that would have taught all of the students that they are special because of who they are and not because of color.

- I am upset about how the news and how all they showed was black people being happy about Obama winning. The states that he won in were mostly white and I was watching how they said not a lot of black voters turned out so yes some blacks may be rejoicing but more whites are rejoicing too. I know a lot of black people where I live in Ohio who did not vote for Obama. SO I think the news should show that and not just show blacks happy about the election. When I was watching all this take place on the tv I watched the reaction of the people in New York had to the election and all I saw was a lot of white people jumping up and down crying. Think about this are there more white people in the USA than black people? If all the black people voted for Obama he would not be in the White House, it was a mix of races who voted for Obama. Let me ask another question for white people did you only vote for McCain because he is white?

- CBSnews needs to break out of its old way of thinking.
This election is not only a victory for African Americans. It''s a victory for ALL Americans who value optimism over fear, and excellence over incompetence.
If CBSnews MUST consider race, then remember that Obama is 50% Caucasian, and so a victory for Caucasians as well.
Personally I prefer to exclude NO ONE - and I''m hopeful CBSnews will follow that example and acknowledge this is an AMERICAN victory, not a Black victory. - Reply to this comment
