How would this kid know about such things, unless he''s been allowed by his parent(s) to be exposed to them? When I was in fifth grade I didn''t know anything about vampires, let alone what they did for blood. Maybe the teacher could have asked the kid about this and then scheduled a meeting with the kid and his parent(s). However, the teacher was also acting in good faith and concern for this kid. Violent street terrorist gangs do recruit kids this age.

This country is becoming too paranoid and soft, a kid draws a pic of a vampire AROUND HALLOWEEN TIME and it gets labeled as gang related and the poor kid needs psychological evaluation? Try giving that to this paranoid sissified country.

Considering the number of slash movies coming out each year rating a mere PG 13 and the number of vampire disguises sold in kid sizes at the local K-F*rt, is that teacher out of her mind? How about the principal? Is he going to pander to his unreasonable squimishly panicky employees for the rest of his tenure?

I wonder if the school did what my child''s did and forbid "any and all Halloween pictures of any kind depicting All Hallow''s Eve". Now they can only color trees, fall leaves and harvest items. No costumes may be worn and candy isn''t allowed. America is turning into a bunch of pansies. Guess it''s almost time for "Winter Fest" *vomit*

You think our schools are terrible now. Just wait until you see what happens under Obama. There will be a real effort supported by the NEA to institute the type of radical programs he and Ayers helped promote in Chicago.

[Just another example of the loonies that are running our school system. They don''''t teach anything worthwhile, like reading or math, just indoctrinate the kids in the liberal party line and make them all fit the same mold. Public schools should be done away with!!!!!!!!!!!!!]

Looks like the white teacher stereotyped the black student. Nice going teacher. The teacher is the individual that needs psychologigal training.
