of11of, .... the teacher wanted to check the facts just like you said, so ... they sent him to the counselor to see if womthing was up. What could the school have done better?

Better for the principal to send the boy to a counselor for a discussion than to be blamed for allowing a school massacre two days later. It''s not really relevant that the boy''s mother was "dismayed". Situation handled well. Thanks.

i am an advocate of teaching well
this teacher and the office she reported it needs to be evaluated; - should have checked their facts up front more carefully, at the beginning before ever confronting the unfortunate kid.
good luck kid.

That picture was no more horrifying, than a picture of Humpty Dumpty was. Kids no what vampires are, and what they do. Which is, they suck your blood out. And every kid knows about when you lose your blood,,you die!

This teacher is the one that needs counseling, right along with school as well.

Everyone needs to step back, and take deep breath.
There! Doesn''''t that feel much better?

Almost can''t believe that I''m agreeing with Slim1 but this story tells more about the fears/ignorance of the teacher/school administration than anything else. They traumatized the kid & had him ''tested''. Now what? Juvenile Court? He will very likely never do anything original again because of this event.

You all want to jump on the band wagon and rip the teacher and school and system in general. But everyone of you would be ripping the teachers, school, and system if a kid snaps and starts shooting people. You''d all be saying "They should have seen the signs!" You can''t have it both ways.

There are advantages to home schooling. You are valedictorian, captain of the football team, president of the science club...

Other activities that are now banned in many schools:

No more tag.
No more dodge ball.
No more monkey bars.
No more jumping off the swing.
No more kickball, soccer and other %u201Cbody-banging%u201D activities.
No more booing the rival team at sporting events.
No more gymnastic type activities during breaks, including handstands and cartwheels.

And people wonder why America''s kids are fat & lazy. The schools are instituting obesity training at an early age & keep them in a sedentary mode from then on.

Several years ago in Washington State my son almost got expelled for making a paper gun. He was in 5th grade at the time. He has always been very interested in WWII and history. He folded a gun out of paper and I had to go to the school and get treated like my 5th grader was a criminal! They told me there was "no tolerance" for weapons. Also, he had drawn smoke coming out of the end of it and the teacher accused him of drawing a cigarette on the gun. It was just ridiculous. It was just an innocent child folding a gun out of a piece of paper.

"How would this kid know about such things, unless he''''s been allowed by his parent(s) to be exposed to them? When I was in fifth grade I didn''''t know anything about vampires, let alone what they did for blood. Maybe the teacher could have asked the kid about this and then scheduled a meeting with the kid and his parent(s). However, the teacher was also acting in good faith and concern for this kid. Violent street terrorist gangs do recruit kids this age."

***! I knew about vampires when I was 4 yrs old watching movies, cartoons etc...........what? you think The Count on Sesame Street was maybe an Ice Cream Man? Seriously, this was a case of a school system gone paranoid to go with the rest of this country!

What a cast of idiots we are in this country. I''''m getting really sick of hearing stuff like this. As a small segement of humanity evolves into a higher consciousness, there are a HUGE number of people who are turning into pathetic, mindless morons. I read a story by Cyril Kornbluth many years ago called "Marching Morons" and I''''m beginning to believe that his premise was accurate.

Which cast of idiots are you refering to. The overly PC teachers? The students? The parents? The Gangbangers? Your post doesn%u2019t really tell us which group of people you''re ripping.

I have a red handkerchief, will I be investigated for gang related activities because we all know that the Bloods wear red handkerchiefs and if I own one I must be a member of the Bloods. I also own a blue handkerchief so I guess I have to arrange a drive by shooting of myself.
