Cops Called After 5th-Grade Ga. Boy Draws Picture That Teacher Thought Was Gang-Related
- If you don''t want kids to draw scary things in art class, don''t give them drawing assignments on Halloween.
Best assign them to draw Disney art instead.

- God have things changed since I was a kid!
Hard to believe that wacked out teacher made this a big deal.
Maybe she''s pissed because she thought the picture was too close to her likeness. - Reply to this comment
- Hmmm...
This sounds like the antics of a conservative Christian, overreacting, just to be on the safe side.
Halloween, and anything associated with it, is an abomination for many Bible thumpers.
Clearly, this teacher invited the issue, by making the assignment. Then, when some scary art appeared, she thought, %u201CWhat have I done? Better do something to protect myself, just in case somebody complains.%u201D
After becoming a national laughing stock, this teacher needs to reconsider her career goals. - Reply to this comment
- This makes about as much sense as saying that rock and roll records played backward contained Satanic messages.

- Another example of teachers and the so called "new educational system" misunderstanding art. What next....no pics of Jesus on the cross with his crown of thorns and blood dripping down his face....because it might represent some gang... My daughter drew a picture of a mushroom and her teacher said it represented drugs%u2026.so she turned her into the principal and she was reprimanded and her art torn up! She was a 7th grader with a love for Alice in Wonderland who NOW knows that mushrooms are drugs!

- This has got to be one of the dumbest stories I have ever heard. And to have the kid undergo psychological testing???? A FINE example of blowing things out of proportion here in the good ''ol US of A.

- It''s Halloween week and this teacher can''t figure out a spooky drawing? What a lame brain. Teachers need more pay? BS! The system needs high quality teachers and then we can talk about higher pay. 3 months off every summer and they gripe about their annual salary? Lol!

- Ofcourse it was gang related. We have had our problems with our Romanian immigrants here in Altoona as well. Their children form gangs and at night they change into bats and bite the necks of people. I however am unafraid of them because being a good christian I always wear a cross around my neck and that makes them flee in fear of God.

- Savannah, Gee-Aye? I grew up there. The city has a terrible race issue that is never addressed or spoken of in the open.
Of course, I have no idea what this kid had in mind but I do know that street gangs have been a problem since the late 1960s.
It''s an old south city run by carpetbaggers (northerners) who don''t care about history, culture or race relations as much as they do about tourist dollars. - Reply to this comment

A little insite on your boy moose2riches.
The guy is doing nothing more than using this forum as a means of free advertising to promote his website.
The guy has been through a dozen or so names (many are just variations of other people''s names) because he keeps getting banned. If CBS was smart they would include his website name in the same category as a bad word. That would be the end of him.
Hint to all. Every time you see one of his "ads" report him. - Reply to this comment

Apparently, this teacher needs to go back, and be taught cultural training.
Seems like the PC crowd has trained all the common sense out of people.
Welcome to the new America!!!

- You all want to jump on the band wagon and rip the teacher and school and system in general. But everyone of you would be ripping the teachers, school, and system if a kid snaps and starts shooting people. You''''d all be saying "They should have seen the signs!" You can''''t have it both ways.

And just how many warning signs did this child display before he was traumatized. Did ''ONE'' picture trigger this response? Using your system of judgement one non-conformist step is enough to justify putting him in the penitentiary until he learns better (or life).
