I''m with you, Michelle. We don''t need for men to respect us. We only need to unite together as women in mutual respect... and we will deal with those men who do not respect us. We will not ask for their respect. We will speak with a united voice and men will be held accountable to a standard by our united power.

Go to Texas, mess up BIG and see what you get... Don''''t Mess With Texas..... By the way I live in Missouri...

Again, seeing that they are football players, the law will look at them as actual athletes and since we all know that athletes and celebrities are above the law, they will get off free or maybe something as pathetic as a couple hours of community service. Texas has a lot of goofy laws and loop-holes. I realize that a lot of other states do as well, but Texas seems to have a lot more. I dont know if thats to confuse the lower income people or to benefit the rich. Also, I have a theory about the whole "dont mess with Texas," thing. See, the reason why "everything in Texas is big," is because a high percentage of the national money is in Texas so instead of actually doing something with their money, they hide behind it. What do I mean? I mean that they realize that they are filthy rich so they dont have to care about people, respect, or the law because they have enough money to make your life a living he11. Again, thats just my person theory knowing a lot of Texans, going to Texas, and things in the paper/magazines (like we can trust those anyway).

When will men learn to respect women? Are you kidding? We can''t even get the Democratic presidential candidate to put the primary candidate with the MOST votes onto HIS ticket. Why? Because she''s a woman!

Women unite!!!!! Let''s make 2012 a Hillary vs. Sarah battle and guarantee a Woman in the Whitehouse!

"The cheerleader told police she was sexually assaulted and described three to four attackers, Allen said. Police are investigating whether alcohol was present at the party."
"A fourth male was a suspect but now is serving as a witness... "

This story needs to be clear on how many attackers the victim described. Is it 3 or 4 attackers? If there is indeed a 4th attacker, why is he not in police custody? If he is serving as a witness, does that mean he is off the hook from rape charges?

4 months for test results to come in? How absolutely ridiculous ... :o(

Quite unlike CSI on TV, real testing takes lots of time. It cannot be accomplished overnight. And yes, it does take months to be completed.

the the little world of school athletics athletes are the elite....they are the alpha males and everything is done to build it so they''ll produce dominance.

there is no excuse if they did it, but at least some of the blame rests with those who shaped them. tho i doubt any will make the connection.

In Texas, football is above the law. So if they are star players, then they will do anything in their power to make it look like it was the womans fault. Texas is just a ******** for laws.

This if proven true is a crime. Regardless, it is very disturbing. Unfortunately, some parents are are allowing music, TV, movies, computer games, etc to bring up their children. In other cases, they allow other youth and immature adults do the parenting. This is a recipe for failure and we see it every day in society.

Someone earlier mentioned that sports builds character. That is kind of true, however I would say that it builds on the character that a young person brings to the sport. There are exceptions where a coach or a program magically influences an athlete to become a more responsible decision maker. The coach or school still cannot be blamed for failure such as this.

This falls squarely on the shoulders of the parents.

I''m an older washed up ex-athlete that would not entertain the kind of thinking that occurred at this party. My parents were not perfect but they sure did a good job in building my character''s foundation. Coaches built on what my parents built as the foundation.

The kit will be sent to Texas Department of Public Safety, with results taking up to four months.

Four months???? Is this to give the Texas Department of Public Safety a chance to beat the "snot" out of these guys then use the snot as D.N.A. evidence against them?

When others at the party tried to open the door...

Hmmm, I am curious how this is going to pan out...

Theory: When "others" tried to open the door, could they have been adults chaparoning? When busted could it be she cried rape/Sexual Assault to save her own hide? I''ll wait for the rape kit test to form further opinions.

Just because one girl falsely accused the Duke LaCross team does not mean it should be an example of immediately doubting the girls testimony.
Believe me having the courage to turn someone in for raping you and going through the humiliation of a sexual assault exam and all of the grilling you are put under. It takes great courage on her part to stand up for herself.

At least from the story anyway it sounds as though the boys ran when caught - A group of Guys nailing a willing girl do not run they stick around and brag.

But are sports really sociopathic? Wouldn''''t you think the actual problems are a bit deeper then men and women kicking around a ball?

Posted by mjm117 at 06:55 PM : Oct 22, 2008

That''s the problem mjm-I wasn''t referring to sports when I was speaking about sociopathic behavior.

You''ve obviously caught a lot of flak about being athlete.

As for altering the level of neurotransmitters in the brain that is a whole ''nother can of worms.

As for mass reproducing serotonin-if given systemically how the heck do you plan on getting it through the blood brain barrier. The barrier is a little on the lipid side and serotonin as best I remember is a polar molecule.

Our problem is that behavior that we knew to be sociopathic is now considered normal.

As for your statement regarding Prozac,I disagree.
I actually do feel there is an over prescribing of the selective seritonin reuptake inhibitors(SSRIs)

I agree, there is most definitely issues with how often medicines are prescribed. But wait, we can fix it by reproducing seritonin! Let''s just flood your brain with it!

Anyone with the discipline to be an athlete is not someone you hate. What you do hate watching is young men being hustled by some father figure into giving all for the team. Which usually means disabling sports injuries.

No hatred. Tell me, how many former athletes "had a great future" but they had an injury.

I have to commend you on your response. There are absolutely pushy parents and coaches alike. But to condemn an athelete because he is an athelete is what I have issues with. We could point fingers all over society (i.e. how models portay images to our younger women and girl (I am a father of a teenage daughter)).

My point is, our society is a mess. Not because atheletes. Not because of models. Not because of drugs. Not because of crime.

Our society is a mess because nobody cares anymore. Our society is a mess because nobody stands up for what is right
