Because the media bashes public education relentlessly, home-schooling is permitted in cases where it shouldn''t be. Some parents are more than up to the task and do a terrific job, but others just want to hide abuse where no one can report it.

Some peolpe should not raise kids. Gespo tactic''s do not work on raising children. How many other home schooled children are abused and the public does not even know it, because the child is kept from socitiy. Thank god for the neighbor. Hope both parents are treated like the girl they abused.

Here is an example of domestic torture. Yet, the two adults, so called parents, face only 4 years in prison. Tortured a 14 year old. Torture, in many forms, is all over the world and not just in governments, military, and etc. It is even among populations including the USA the world''s leading democracy. Anyone can outlaw torture, but no one, no entity can really enforce the laws. And no one, no entity truly punishes the torturers severely, harshly. This couple will only get 4 years in prison! They should be executed and now.

Let the prison guards bring them big hearty meals--then visibly spit all over the food, after its been dropped on the floor. Only 4 years? Unbelievable.

From the article;

Jon Pomeroy, 43, and his wife, Rebecca Long, 44, could face as much as four years in prison.

I can''t believe these people are only going to get, at the max, four yrs.

Well, just tell their cellmates what they''re in for, and let justice take over.

If they only give these people 4 years in jail for starving this child to death and for their sickening patterns of abuse, then legal system is BROKEN. These people should also be starved to death...Lock them up and DO NOT FEED THESE F--CKING People. Make the punishment fit the crime. End of story !

They should have published photos of the adults, for some strange reason, I have the feeling that they are probably grossly overweight.

Makes me sick. How can they justify "as much as 4 years". This is attempted murder.
