Yep, sure enough. The laws that We the People of the United States, live by are in the Constitution, the U.S. Constitution. You can go to the National Archives and actually look at it. It is beautiful. It was written by a bunch of brilliant men who lived just over two hundred years ago, who, unlike Jesus, thought it was just fine to look at pretty girls. We know for a fact that they actually existed, unlike Jesus and they even provided for the fact that, as times changed you can change the law. That''''s the law we live by

I have looked at it and the Declaration of Independance and the Bill of Rights, I have full size replicas hanging on my wall.
It''s amazing that a group of men could sit down and draft documents to form a new nation using the lessons and mistakes of other nations that has lasted 230 years despite factions trying their best to cancel out what our founding fathers created

"Let''''s see, shall we?:

Romans 8:21
that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious FREEDOM of the children of God.

2 Corinthians 3:17
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is FREEDOM.

Galatians 5:1
It is for FREEDOM that Christ has set us FREE. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

James 2:12
Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives FREEDOM

1 Peter 2:16
Live as free men, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as servants of God.

Leviticus 25:10
Consecrate the fiftieth year and proclaim LIBERTY throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for you; each one of you is to return to his family property and each to his own clan.

That''s funny I can''t seem to find these things referanced in my copies of the Declaration of Independance, Consitution, or Bill of Rights

"Jesus commanded ... teaching what is wrong and what is right. "

He did not and it is an evil perversion of his word and teachings to say or act in such a judgmental way. it is you personally who feel compelled to apply a judgement--that is fine although will cause you anguish as Jesus taught. What is NOT fine is to try to reduce your anguish by forcing others to act as you prefer. If you condemn others, it is YOU who much change.

1 Timothy 4:13 Until I come, give attention to the public reading of Scripture, to exhortation and teaching.

1 Timothy 5:20 Those who continue in sin, rebuke in the presence of all, so that the rest also will be fearful of sinning.

2 Timothy 4:2 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction.

Jesus isn''''t a matter of "opinion". He is the TRUTH

John 14:6

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

No Jesus = No Truth, Know Jesus = Know Truth

Why Conservative Christian in our country have so much in common with Taliban, Al qaeda and Osama been forgotten?

You both oppose homosexuals'' right of marriage, you both denounce our constitution which seperates church from state, you both hate Hollywood for the same reason.

You Conservative Christian refer to God, Jesus and Bible to make your points just like Osama been forgotten refers to Allah, Muhammad and Koran.

Why don''t you Radical Christian Taliban leave United States and start living with your Islamic Radical Taliban in caves.

You guys have destroyed our economy and country in the name of Battle of Armagaddon and 2nd coming of Christ and still don''t feel ashamed !!!

just so you do it quietly and behind closed doors in the privacy of your own home. no one outside there has "authorized" you

Jesus commanded to preach the good news and the gospel unto the world. That includes teaching what is wrong and what is right.

The First Amendment says, among other things, that Christians can''t make their definition of "marriage" the official legal one.

If Jesus is such a self-evident "truth," why is it that after almost 2000 years his followers *still* haven''t managed to convince everyone in the world of it? I reject your reality and substitute my own.

The only reason not to support gay marriage is, haven''t these poor people suffered enough?

Remember, it wasn''t even a hundred years ago that the same arguments were being applied to interracial marriage.

"Why must we throw away our morals, for a fringe group, who wish to sanction false marriages"

No one is asking anyone to throw away any morals, unless your moral compel you to try to restrict the rights of others. Any two people in love have a right to marry, and that is not even in debate any longer. That is beautiful, and moral, and human, and must be recognized as such. Gay marriage demands at minimum tolerance, but really we should all embrace and celebrate any loving union.

Why must we appease every group that wishes to practice their fetish in the eye of the public.

I''m sure the slavers of the deep south felt the same way about a free black people. You have a lot in common.

andor3: You came late too the party, that is where it began, it was those in favor that brought Jesus into the issue and have left it there. The question that has been asked repeatedly and never answered is where do we draw a line, when do we say no to these fringe groups. Why must we throw away our morals, for a fringe group, who wish to sanction false marriages. Why must we appease every group that wishes to practice their fetish in the eye of the public.

"So by this logic if an adult male loves a 12 year old child and the child loves him then they should have a right to marry. By this logic if a sister "loves" a brother or a daughter loves a father then they should have a "right" to marry as well."

The logic of a perverted idiot! it is pathetic you think these are meaningful questions. Clue: they are not.

Whatever. I asked why you are ashamed of your own opinion. You keep bringing this Jesus guy into it. I know a guy named Jesus too and he is gay. Maybe your Jesus and mine should meet up?

The road that led us to this moment
Was not an easy climb
The world would not accept us as we lived our lives as one
But we stood by each other
And here is where we''ll stay
Our love is true and faithful as I say, I DO today
You are my strength, you are my friend
We''re side by side until the end of time
You are my spirit, a song in my heart
As I say, I DO today
Times may not be easy, but hey that''s what life''s about
But together we will make it of this I have no doubt
You are my strength, you are my friend
We''re side by side until the end of time
You are my spirit, a song in my heart
As I say, I DO today and you say, I DO today
I Say I DO, I DO Love You, I Say I DO Today

StopSocialis: You can''''t bring light to someone who likes darkness. They cannot justify it to themselves, so they cling to the fallacy that it is okay. They mock the Word of God, and twist it to find comfort in a lifestyle they know is wrong, and to bring reason defending something that is indefenseable.
Posted by Edward1975 at 06:43 PM : Oct 10, 2008

U are absolutely correct. Time to eat dinner. Let them mock away. They''ll never learn, sadly.

The Bible tells us why:

2 Corinthians 4:4
The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

the conclusion seems clear: on one side we have people who are gay or support gay marriage standing up and expressing their beliefs. opposing them we have people too ashamed to do the same, so they hide behind bible verses and make dubious (and quickly-refuted) claims that they are expressing opinions of Jesus or George Washington.

If you object to gay marriage on moral grounds, why are you ashamed to admit it? I think any two people in love have a right to marry.
