Fear, Uncertainty Follow Detention Of 330 Alleged Illegal Immigrants In South Carolina
- to 1hernandez so a illegal immigrant comes here for the express purpose of dropping a baby on American soil and we are supposed to pay the hospital bill and let the criminals live here forever. No thanks take your bleeding heart hogwash and go with them for all I care.
We need to change the law that allows children of criminals to become citizens. Wake up people we can not afford to keep this up forever. We are broke and yet we are spending Billions of non-Americans. We are broke and yet we send billions of Foreign Aid to people who can''t stand us. - Reply to this comment
- ok so send the parents back leave the children in a orphanage isnt that going to cost us the tax payers even more money once you send all the illegals back now we have millions of children with no parents and paying for these kids that we didnt create arent we doing enough of that now, so whats wrong with the mother staying here with her kids (the kids that didnt choose to be born here) to support them.

When the mother is deported why can''t the children go with her which I''m sure they would choose to do if asked. Would Guatemala not allow the children in their country? - Reply to this comment
- are you talking about the children i hope not children are precious and are not born to pay for what there parents have done. children dont deserve to be treated like an anmial they are born here this is there country now. deal with its the law when you are born here your a citizen thats how are country is. its not going to change anytime soon.

- There is absolutely no way we are going to deport 12M people or break up that many families. If we do, however, continue on a path of increased enforcement, that may, in my opinion, give others pause before coming into our country illegally.

- I just don''t get it why don''t they even try to become legal. They could there are of course maybe fines but that would be it. And in most cases they would not even be fined.
It just makes no sense. Unless someone is using them as slaves and keeps them in fear. If that is the case then we need to hunt them down. - Reply to this comment
- Sadly the same kind of broken families exist when the police break up any kind of gang or crime family. And the best way to stop illegal immigrates it to fine the companies or contractors or even home-owners who pick up day laborers about $1000.00 a day.

- cntrymuzsux----------------- your right but if the employers didnt start it in the first place it would never have gotten this far

- If you don''t want your family broken up, then don''t break the law. It''s hard to feel sorry for these folks as they knew they had broken the law to be here. As for the lady with the child recovering from surgery, who paid for that? Who gets stuck with the medical and education costs of these people. I don''t feel bad for them at all. Follow the law and this won''t happen.

"Everyone knew the plant hired illegal immigrants, said Wynn, who added no one wanted to do anything about it because they figured the workers were doing jobs no one else wanted. With the economy getting worse, that''s probably no longer true and he worries what is going to happen to all the people caught up in the raid".
Mr. Wynn, your statement was never true, you bought into the big lie, that has been foisted upon the American people for quite some time now.
And you, Mr Wynn, should go to jail, for not doing anything to protect your country.- Reply to this comment
- They should have stayed home and not had to worry about it. I have no fear of my family being split up, but then again I am a citizen and have not broken our laws.

- If the parents came here illegally and understood the consequences the parents now have a tough choice to make. I''''''''m not telling them what choice to make but they still have a choice. You lie in the bed you made.
That''s over 12 million choices that America is crying about!

- cntrymuzksux-----------------i think the blame should be on the companies that use them knowing there status i am 100% american and believe that if the employers didnt give them the chance then they wouldnt be here illegal

- You are full of it Penskeone, I for one have a degree in economics, own my own small business and I am complaining about it. If you want immigrants then change the law until then it illegal. If one person robs a banks is illegal but if ten thousand so the same somehow the law changes. bullcrap start upholding our laws. all these countries they are from disrespect and hate us yet they keep coming for a piece of what we have

- mrcrosby------------------------ the children are innocent and you want them to pay for a crime they did not do.they should not be punished. they should be able to stay here with there mother, i know that she is illegal but why do the children haveto go back to a place they never knew

- The easy solution
Let employers hire as many illegals as they want.
But!
Each year at tax time, require every employer to verify works status of every employee (SSI#, Green Card, whatever.) If there don''''t pass verification, that employer cannot deduct the wages paid to that employee as a business cost. That would devastate a business & they will show that employee the door very fast. And no other employer will hire them either. The only option left for them to find work is to go back to their county of origin. No mass deportation, no picture of crying women, just a quite exit from the theater. Immigration will virtually stop & most will have to go home. - Reply to this comment
- The title of this story should read community torn apart because city leaders fail town by allowing a greedy company to hire illegals and take jobs at slave labor wages contributing to the general breakdown in the American labor market all due to profiteering.
Shame on you CBS for not placing the blame for these human tragedies where they belong.
Try telling us about American citizens and their families who can''''t get decent jobs because illegals are only too happy to work for dirt for these scumbag companies.

I have to say I agree with you. But I would put it one step more. These people that want to come here, why don''t they turn against their own countries gov. and fight for what they want that they can get here ? The only way you can get rights is to fight for them. Over through your own gov. and fight for your rights to live free! As much as America would like everyone to be free,we can''t all fight your battles. You have to do that for yourself. Believe it or not,we have people right here that live in our own country that want to over throw our own country. They live free in here but are not going to be happy until we are living just like you in your countries. So we have our own battles right here inside the US. - Reply to this comment
- Now we''''re making headway. And like you, I too am vociferously opposed to those who would use this blog to foment their racist views.
Mass deportation is not the answer I agree with also but when you get caught up in one of these sweeps and it''''s found that you''''ve forged documents in order to obtain a job or commited I.D. fraud that doesn''''t give you a right to play the victim. you should have known the ramifications of going down that path. If you''''re willing to take that chance you have to be willing to pay the consequences.
Furhtermore, these companies that are involved in aiding and abetting illegal workers should be held accountable and to a degree higher and more painful than to the illegals.

Okay...
Are you open to a Comprehensive Reform Bill? We can Both Agree that Mass Deportations do not work, right?
I don''t suppot I.D fraud, but I understand. Look, bottomline is our Borders are broken, we have 12 Million Illegal Immigrants running around, and we have families being seperated. - Reply to this comment
- Here is my issue I have with the majority of the people on this Blog. It offends me when I see these racial comments about Mexicans (Goons,********,Criminals,Gangs etc.) These are offensive to Hispanic Americans that followed the law and fought for this country.
We need to seal the borders first! I favor a path to Legalization fot the Majority of the Illegal Immigrants. I believe they should pay back taxes, wait in the back of the line and, and Learn English.
