Fear, Uncertainty Follow Detention Of 330 Alleged Illegal Immigrants In South Carolina
- Why is CBS even printing this garbage? These people are criminals who are in our country illegally. Why on earth is it wrong for a country to enforce it''s immigration laws? I have no sympathy for law-breakers who were well aware of the fact that they could be arrested and detained at any time. It was foolish of them to start families while they were in the USA illegally.
While our unemployment rate is rising and we are in the beginning of what may be a long recession, we should not be importing more workers and allowing illegal workers to stay in our country! - Reply to this comment
- So much hatred and intolerance towards other human beings. What have we come to in this country. Except for Native Americans, we ALL came here from other countries, and some of your ancestors came here, in a lawless way also and even murdered the true Native Americans. Please be careful and think before you talk of violence and hate. The majority of these people just want an opportunity to work and survive like the rest of us. Why don''t you be upset with the administration for sending so many professional jobs overseas?

- I find it amazing how these people want to get rid of all illegal aliens. Well it just so happens that many of them do pay taxes and put lots of money into the economy, not to mention working at jobs most would not do. If we get rid of all of the illegal immigrants how many will be left to pick your fruit, clean your public restrooms, work in the hotels and offices, do the gardening, bus your tables, and more?

- "We need some more help here California, the sooner the better."
No kidding! Although Proposition 187 was shot down,
California(and many other states)should look to Arizona for laws that have been passed by that state to curb illegal immigration, providing the courts at various levels, uphold the laws proposed and passed by state and other legislation: Arizona has an employer sanctions law to keep illegal immigrants from obtaining jobs there. The Maricopa County Sheriff''s Department does conduct illegal immigrant raids. An illegal immigrant can be held without bail there, if the crime they are accused of commiting is a serious felony offense.
These measures aren''t perfect and won''t work all the time, but at least Arizona is doing something to
curb & fight illegal immigration, something the Federal Government won''t or can''t do.
Until California can get tough on illegal immigrants, the businesses that hire them, and the "Sanctuary
Cities" that shield these people from the Federal
Government, illegal immigration will run rampant
throughout the state, and continue to unecessarily
drain California of it''s resources, and it''s limited
funds.

- this poor woman said, "I came to the U.S. for work. I came in peace.
My heart goes out to her, but she is there illegally. The law is the law, you have to apply like anyone else. Having said that I would probably try and do the same but I think that I would do anything to not bring children into such a bad situation..
History has shown that no two races can ever live together successfully for long once their numbers have grown.. and it is made worse when there is different gods involved as is the case with many who are coming into the west..
IF these people want to live peacefully in America they then have to make sure that their lives and those of their children are without crime, but this does not seem to be happening in any of the western countries, many who come rape, murder, get into gangs and make their nation look bad..
People must stay in their own countries and try to force the governments to do as well as the west does. - Reply to this comment

- The community''s transformation was slow but steady over the last 15 years as the newcomers replaced working-class whites and blacks.
So much for the "they are only here to do the jobs Americans won''t do" argument. These ILLEGAL ALIEN INVADERS literally TOOK OVER the jobs Americans were doing, because they are cheaper to hire. Time to start getting rid of ILLEGAL ALIEN INVADERS by any method, including shooting, that it takes. It is also time to start fining those who hire them. HEAVY fines, starting at $250,000.00 per ILLEGAL ALIEN INVADER hired. Increase the fine for a second offense to $500,000.00 per ILLEGAL ALIEN INVADER hired. A third offense should have a fine of $1,000,000.00 per ILLEGAL ALIEN INVADER hired, and 1 year in prison, retro-active to the first offense, per ILLEGAL ALIEN INVADER hired. Include those who rent houses, provide food, sale cars or in any other way support ILLEGAL ALIEN INVADERS. GET RID OF ALL THE ILLEGAL ALIEN INVADERS. - Reply to this comment
- Of course we can deport 12M people, we find an underdeveloped, underpopulated area where they can start their own illegal immigrant country. Since they are all "hard workers" just imagine what they could build together!!! We can ship all of them to one area plus all the people who feel sorry for them or employ them illegally.

- I have mixed feelings about illegals. Many years ago I would have defended them but now I have to say "It Depends on the situation.
I once had some small low cost rentals. With low income renters there are often some "problem" tenants but I learned how to work around them until Tyson decided to build a plant in a neighboring community.
When Tyson decided to cut "labor costs" the illegals started arriving. First there were some rather nice but then within a year or so the "problems arrived.
I blame CORPORATE GREED for the enduing events.
I would rent to a couple with 1 kid and the next thing I knew there were close to TWENTY people permanently "visiting"! I started having to deal with fighting, threats to other tenants, property destruction, huge unexplained utility bills, etc.
Eventually I couldn''t keep up the expense they caused and lost the rentals - others in town faced the same nightmare. School costs and crime rose. Then the Immigration raids started. I suspect as a result of the huge rise in crime.
Now years later a few quiet immigrants are still in the area and I''m getting calls about probable former tenants that are elsewhere using local info for ID THEFT. - Reply to this comment
- Instead of worrying about how much money the next guy is making or why the next guy isn''''t paying taxes, we need to worry about ourselves. We need to worry about how we can make more Money, how we can put our kid through College fo a better Education. Better Yet, If they are so Patriotic, I would hope they enlisted in the Armed Forced.
I respect people that lead by example instead of whining like a bunch of Sissies!

Good!
That means we have thousands of jobs that illegal immigrants do not qualify for. - Reply to this comment
- they need to make picking food a real job, and employ all the losers in jail, and make them work for feeding them, and housing them

- If the chicken plant owners paid decent wages for their hideous jobs, maybe Americans would work there.

really? How many are doing it now?
Hopw many American people on unemployemt vs. many picking lettuce?
The day that I hop on Craigslist,Monster,O.C times etc.. and see no jobs for Americans, that is the day I will believe you. - Reply to this comment
- I dont know about you, but I will never see Americans picking lettuce in Northern California. If anyone tells you otherwise, they are full of it. If that was the case, how come we have minimal to none there now?
Companies make a profit of these people. Americans demand to much for too little. Afterall, If you are competing with Illegals to pick cherries, you should be deported. - Reply to this comment
- entrymuzksux--- charge them here in a court of law, a sentence that would allow them to support there children but still pay for the crime the commited

Give it up. You are talking to a bunch of ignorant hicks! Thay are nice and cozy where they are at. It is easy to say "come here legally". They don''t understand that people overcome obstacles to be American. You know that Illegals will do jobs that Americans would not do for that pay. It''s a scapegoat.

- I hope that the US wakes up soon. Send them all back home, make their children (that are US citizens) wards of the state and have the adopted by US CITIZENS. Send the parents who are illegal, back to wherever they came from.
I also understand that the economy and base services offered throughout the US make take a hit, but that will be temporary. The savings in the form of: Funds, Time, Equipment and Manpower will be immense, once realized. It may take 6 months for our economy to re-balance itself, but it will happen.
I have listened to all the excuses: "We do jobs/tasks that no one else will....%u201D, Ok. I will meet you 1/2 way on that. But, eventually they will be taken by someone who will do the work. Get over it. You did not enter the country legally, they go home. You have no rights as an American citizen%u2026you are not a CITIZEN%u2026%u2026get over it.

- These people need to realize what they do to their children by the things they choose to do .
What ever it is it effects them . Whether it is robbing bank, dealing drugs or being in a country they are not suppose to be generally Illegially. Illegial mean illegial not if they can get by with it. I know these countries they come from are poor and most of the people are uneducated but they have to make it better in their own country by voting, getting better educations and putting the right people in their government. Running does not make it better it makes it worse.

- I can speak from experience on this subject...Here in Georgia there are a lot of illegal Hispanics with new cars and homes. My neighbor, who is Hispanic, just got his license plate for his car...which he has had with 30 day tempory tags for 7 months!Bank of America openly admits to " offering a chance for the American Dream to these new additions to our country." Look at our financial institutions now folding every week, being bought for pennies on the dollar of what the stock should be worth. There''s nothing wrong with wanting a better life for youself and your family, just do it the proper way and follow the laws of the United States. I personally know many Legal Hispanics that are outraged over the illegals in Georgia. They have told me many times that it makes them look bad, and they do not associate with them. They call them "gutter trash" (their words, not mine)Also, Health Care isn''t an entitlement I''ve never seen it in the Constitution, just like getting a drivers license isn''t listed either.Within 10 years it isn''t going to matter anyway, because the country in general is too concerened with Hollywood and pro sports so we''ll be taken over by somebody. Those who fail to remember the past are doomed to repeat it.
