Insurance Giant Got $85B Bailout Last Month; White House Calls Firm's Near Half-Million Dollar Executive Retreat "Despicable"

You''re living in a rich man''s world and you''re skwed if you are not one of the "playas." You''re paying for this anyway...one way or another...it is a deductible business expense I suspect...these crooks ALL belong in the Bastille. - Reply to this comment
- Lawmakers were enraged that executives of AIG''s main U.S. life insurance subsidiary spent $440,000 on the retreat, complete with spa treatments, banquets and golf outings.
"It''s pretty despicable," White House press secretary Dana Perino said. "But we will not demand the tax payers money back because WE ALL ARE *** JOE TAX PAYER" Mind you, this was stolen in full public view.To call them wicked, heartless and greedy is the understatement of the week, because next week will be worse. The FBI and Justice Department would have to be on their pay roll to pull this off. What a country. Will the US file a 13 or 7? - Reply to this comment

- It is said that when Thomas Aquinas passed away his robes literally roiled as lice and other parasite that lived on the body left the soon to be cold carcass as it lay on the side of the road.
Hygiene and hairsuit underwear being what they were I imagine this to be true.
It brings to mind the picture of what is happening to Wallstreet. Even as the louts dash for the door and taxpayers are asked to bailout greedy investors they fight to keep the money they made.
Treasury and Fed fight the beginning death rattle of the economy to insure their own have time to get off the body. - Reply to this comment

- I really don''t understand the double standard. Homeowners who received a predatory loan are on their own to suffer. They can''t get a little help.
But companies like this are rewarded with extra cash. Hey - can I get another back rub? Don''t spill my drink! - Reply to this comment
