''Although yesterday''s vote was a disappointing reflection on the House of Reps, we should take great encouragement in the fact that we came together as one and shocked the media and the DC establishment these past weeks.
We must proceed to the next step: keeping our promises to hold Congress accountable. Many reps and senators will assume that you''re done with giving them your opinions because the votes have been completed. They''re counting on it.
Contact their offices and let them know that you will stay true to your commitment. If your rep and/or senator voted for the bailout, get together with other freedom minded individuals in your community and spread the word on the recent unconstitutional activity of your member(s) of Congress.
For the vast majority of the House and many in the Senate, their focus will now turn to getting reelected. That means they will soon be back in their districts and doing their best to convince their constituents that they deserve another term.
C4L members should be ready to greet their return, such as being at townhalls and other forums to ask the hard questions, and ready to call local radio programs when they campaign on them. We told them we were serious about this vote, and now we must prove it.
Our efforts to take back our Republic are just beginning, and it is time to let the federal gov know that we are in this for the long haul.'' - Reply to this comment
- I suggest all of you read the final bill, HR1424, in its entirety before you spew your negativity.
Many folks who were for the rescue plan if certain provisions were put in place. Since they did modify the bill to add those provisions, I was happy to see the provisions of strict oversight, no financial gain by corporate executives, FBI inclusion to investigation any possible fraud and best of all the provisions for the taxpayers, homeowners and renters.
However, I hated to see unrelated pork added to the bill. Congress should have stuck to the original purpose and legislated the rest at a later date separately.
There has to be a balance in our country between regulation and capitalism. Unfortunately our consumer-driven economy has stripped us of any common sense. It cannot be all one way. Those folks who promote
self-regulation within the marketplace are kidding themselves. Corporations will only obey the laws currently in force but don''t expect them to be socially responsible. Unless there are rules in place, corporations will do whatever they can to maximize their bottom-line. - Reply to this comment
- People need to stop talking about Democrats and Republicans - Libs and Conserv. If you haven''t notices lately the Reps are acting nothing like conservatives, and the Democrats are not listening to the will of the people.
Instead of pointing fingers we need to start fixing the problems we have with our government. THEY DO NOT LISTEN TO THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE.
Time to send a strong message and vote our all those who voted yes for this bill. Also time to start looking seriously at a three or four party system. Business is paying off both Republics and Democrats. Adding more parties to the mix will make it harder and more expensive for them to influence every party. If this crisis does not call for a serious look at government corruption (*** for oil), term limits for congree (no more lifers like Kennedy) and an overhaul of the two party system. - Reply to this comment

- Many bloggers were wondering why Barack Obama was not prosecuted by the State of Illinois for not telling the truth on his legal paperwork. In 1991 Mr. Obama signed an application to IBAB and denied that he owed outstanding parking tickets, he falsified his application and gained admission to the bar by fraud. It is because he resigned as a lawyer sometime in March 2007, and he could not be prosecuted because he no longer had his law license. Therefore if he loses the Presidential run he will not be returning to the law. By the way, he was blatantly flagrant as he had 17 outstanding parking tickets. Of course this does not clear up the part that he also lied about ever having used another name which there seems proof that he went by Barry Soetoro; Barry Obama; Barack Dunham; Barry Dunham.

- We the people of the United States exist no more.
The recent 700 billion dollar bailout of the failed financial and banking industry illustrates that our congress only serves the top 1% of the very elite of American citizens. With the bailout they secure future lobby dollars and the middle class will become the serfdom of a national debt. Both the republican and democratic parties are engaged in an uncivil war of politics of petty party power differences and ignore the small people, the constituents they are supposed to represent. In September 2008 159,000 jobs are no more and a deep recession has arrived with more jobs sure to fade. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi stated the bill was required "begin to shape the financial stability of our country and the economic security of our people." Too late, the die is cast; throwing more tax payer dollars into the abyss (national debt) will not ward off economic failure. - Reply to this comment
