Look at all the pork that the senate added to this POS. These morons just can''t help themselves throwing away OUR money. $2,000,000 given to manufacturers of wooden arrows for children!! And that''s the smallest. Hundreds of millions in pork. Vote these ba$tards out of office.

Pain sometimes is unavoidable as are sometimes truly painful recessions. I think it is hard to fault efforts to make things better..
A bailout, a rescue are all attempts to get a seriously derailed, deregulated economic train back on track. The economy, like any machine, requires a human hand to guide it from time to time.
$700 Billion may not immediately solve a $5 Trillion problem, but it buys time to possibly carve one out... Bailout is an investment not a handout... This thing has been horribly presented to the American Public.

It is funny to me to read comments on here of those who believe this is the save-all. When this passes the DOW will probably rise, but then we are back to the underlying issues. This will only prolong the inevitable. No the the bailout!

With the economy lowly seizing up, any proposed solution to the current crisis is better than none...

No, it is not. Our economy is debt driven. That has to change and apparently that is not going to happen without a pretty significant economic collapse. The worst part is, that is going to happen with or without this bailout.

As passage of this act of treason seems likely, let us all start now campaigning against our Representatives (I choke on that word in this context). Let us find a replacement who will at least work toward repealing this BS before it kills us all.

This is a deliberate and malicious attempt by the administration to land the finally death blow upon civil rights in this country. If we allow this thing to happen, or to stand if it does happen, we will be slaves to the economy until finally (in maybe a year or two), are nation%u2019s government will begin to collapse.

After all, the American Public was reluntant to enter WWII until the attack on Pearl Harbor... and now it appears the American public will be relunctant until the Great Credit Crunch of 08 blows up in their own back yards... Pain can be a powerful motivator.

CBS - I have read comment after comment saying NO to a financial institution bailout. AOL news asks simply on their poll if we the American people believe a bailout should be done - 67% say NO!

Where do you get off implying over and over that the American people are split? Prior to the Senate vote - 72% said they did not want the senate to bail out the financial institutions.

I understand, CBS news is controlled by the same groups who want their FAT A** bailed out independent of what Americans want!

For 2 weeks now we''ve been told daily if we don''t do something today, financial armageddon will arrive tomorrow. Every day we get by though and the stock market isn''t plummeting 2,000 points as many have suggested. We are certainly in a financial mess, and things need to be done.

However, we must be smart in how we solve this mess, or we will only be doing this all over again in 5-10 years. Congress should be holding hearings with economists and other leaders to really figure out the best manner to fix our problems. In addition, our so called leaders have now added to the bill to go before the Senate today. It includes funding for foreign banks and to name just a few:

New Tax earmarks in Bailout bill
- Film and Television Productions (Sec. 502)
- Wooden Arrows designed for use by children (Sec. 503)
- Litigants in the 1989 Exxon Valdezincident, Alaska (Sec. 504)

Tax earmark "extenders" in the bailout bill
- Virgin Island and Puerto Rican Rum (Section 308)
- American Samoa (Sec. 309)
- Mine Rescue Teams (Sec. 310)
- Mine Safety Equipment (Sec. 311)
- Domestic Production Activities in Puerto Rico (Sec. 312)
- Indian Tribes (Sec. 314, 315)
- Railroads (Sec. 316)
- Auto Racing Tracks (317)
- District of Columbia (Sec. 322)
- Wool Research (Sec. 325)

Take 1 minute and tell Congress to Vote NO on this bailout. Call (202) 224-3121 or email them at wwww.VoteNoBailout.org.

Bush/Cheney called 800 Battalions to harass Remaining House Members to Vote for Bailout Tomorrow!!

Just heard this - hot off the press at 9:30pm, Thursday night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Will Bush/Cheney start WW III over this? We know they have been itching to start a war to counter/cancel November''s elections so they can stay in power for the past year. Is this it?

The House members whom voted against are those who represent poor and low income areas throughout the country and areas that do not benefit from bailout. They are enough in numbers to make a difference in Monday''s voting. Let''s keep supporting them!!!

Pass this around to others so they know they have and are supported by the public!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
