Wreckage Of Millionaire Adventurer's Plane Located In Calif. Mountains; He Went Missing Over A Year Ago
- The aviation weather for September 3, 2007: http://www.wunderground.com/history/airport/KMMH/2007/9/3/DailyHistory.html?req_city=NA&req_state=NA&req_statename=NA ....Density altitude at the crash site was above 13,000 ft. The service ceiling of the Super Decathlon is 15,800 feet. This airplane had very little ability to climb or aggressively manuever under these conditions....... Mr. Fossett borrowed this airplane for the day and may have fallen into the classic trap of assuming it would perform more like the larger and more powerful aircraft he was used to flying. If so, he wouln''t be the first to pay for that mistake with his life. RIP

- An unsurvivable, nose-first crash into a mountain...no body found.
Obviously Steve Fossett was not in the plane when it crashed.
Maybe space aliens from Area 51 abducted him.
More likely he ditched the plane and let it crash into the mountain. - Reply to this comment
- He ran the Iditerod. I feel anyone who can do this, can survive almost anything.

How exactly does one "run" a cross-country dog-sled race in Alaska?
And $1,000 is chump change for a multimillionaire... - Reply to this comment
- My grandfather was a millionaire (barely) and he always carried $600 cash with him. I don''''t think $1000 is unusual for a multimillionaire.

Your Grandfather undoubtedly lived in a very different time. A time before personal credit cards, and what not. So it was more important to carry large amounts of cash. It was much safer back then too, to carry that much cash.
In todays world, where we have debt cards, credit cards, someone of Fossetts wealth, has no reason to carry that much cash around with him.
BTW, not sure really how old you are, but guessing that you are somewhere in your 40''s thru 55. I guess you''ll let me know if I''m close, but I''m in that age group, and I was thinking of my grandfathers time, and when he lived,,to respond to your post. - Reply to this comment
- No I don''''t really believe that he was a drug runner, but no one was asking about it. But the fact remains, he was carrying around quite a bit of cash. More than nessesary.

- I would think that Mr.Fossett''s remains where victinm of nature. The bears,or wolves, coyotes or any creature in that area that relies on the food chain. His family declared him dead months ago so they could get their paws on his wealth.

LOL,, wasn''t sure if you knew it was sarcasm or not.
But did want others to know as well, that I was being so.
After all, most people don''t know me as well as you do. - Reply to this comment
