Comments on: Bailout Bill Picks Up Steam
Senate Passage Appears Assured; Opposition From House Republicans Said To Weaken
- Democrats, Republicans, Jews, Baptist,Presbyterian, Catholic, etc.....What difference does it make what we are, God created us all equal...Pres.Bush should not be blamed for what the US Banks have done, each should be held accountable for what they have done, just as a criminal pays. Why can''t we all unite as one, regardless of our position politically/religously, and do what is best. At this critical time in our live''s, who cares if you are Democrat,Republican, etc. Personally, I am sick of hearing each candidate put the other down. Whatever happened to "Here is what I can do for you", not "Have you heard...". I am not very proud of either candidate and their tactics. They are all setting a good example for our future leaders, our children.Should our children be raised to believe the best way to achieve in life is to make other''s look bad? Pres.Bush said it all, "God help us all!".

- The GOP heldout on the bill. And now who wins...the wealthy, the GOP''s core constituency. Do not be fooled the changes aren''t about the middle class.

- All of this failure in credit trust comes on the backdrop of a monumental $10 trillion Reagan/Bush debt. Maybe Republicans should recalculate whether or not the debt can''''t go high enough.

I wish the Republicans would cut to the chase and just try to give each other and the people who finance them credit cards backed by the United States Treasury.
Everybody in America KNOWS that the Republicans are naught but liars, thieves, and con artists; WHY IN THE WORLD do they still keep trying to hide it? - Reply to this comment
- ''''m not the one claiming that people need to be sickingly polite to discuss things, this is political war, if you didn''''t notice.....McDikInTeeth cries like a baby and says, "I will not be responding any more" and goes running home, after spending a long time insulting McCain and Palin, which I don''''t have a problem with, fair game
OMG, It''s war?? When was this declared I missed it!! Quick someone tell me how to contact homeland security so we can get this addressed.
Now back to reality, First and foremost we are americans. - Reply to this comment
- If the bailout passes, it should only be passed with the clause that states the highest paid person in a company can''t make more than 20x''s more than the lowest paid person, just like the only other socialized program the Conservatives support, the military.

- A question for Osama Obama !
If you pull the troops out of Iraq and put them in Afghanistan to get Bin Laden, what are you going to do when Bin Laden goes to Iraq?
Anyone who thinks fighting an adverssary in Afghanistan will be easier and cost less than fighting in Iraq, needs to sit down and have a beer with the russians, who got their ***** kicked.
Perhaps Obama can use his no pre-conditions talks with the Iranian President and convince him he should go after Bin Laden

Interesting argument.
Extending your argument to its logical conclusion, America should invade and occupy all nations of the world lest Osama relocate to one of them.
Sheer genius. - Reply to this comment

- Sorry but there was no problem at the end of the Clinton term. The mechanism was put in place BUT there was no problem there.
The fault is Bush''''s for not recognizing the problem then white washing it with "The Economy is Fundamentally Sound" and other rosy speeches as late as this year.
These lending practices should have been stopped by 04 or 05 at the latest but typical Bush wait until after the ship has sunk, just like Katrina.

I love it. People blaming Bush for not fixing Clinton''s F-ups fast enough. Also, what do expect the President to say? "We''re screwed?" Yeah, that would help. - Reply to this comment
