- catlady,
It is about God. God hates the killing of innocent life. Over 30,000,000 babies have been aborted this year so far...yet you are concern for the 114,000 that have died in war and call the babies just a fetus. Our country was founded on Christian values. The constitution says we are all created equal...and they signed it in the year of our Lord...
To be an American is not being borned here but a thought...a thought that our forefathers gave to this nation. To tax the church is making laws restricting the church. Which is unconstitutional.

- During the 1960 election campaign, Joe Kennedy visited hundreds of inner city churches handing out $100 bills to any African-American minister who`d instruct his congregation to vote for JFK.

- You''re quite right Catlady that "this obsession with abortion is bordering on a bizarre fetish." Consdier who these people are and what their lives are like. They live for their kids, they watch their own youthful dreams fade away in a mist of responsibility and drudgery. They live, as the phrase goes, "lives of quiet desparation." But, they think, its okay because its "all for the kids." So children MUST be the most important things in the world or otherwise they have thrown their lives away. When somebody wants to abort a fetus it says that being a parent is NOT the most important thing. And they cannot endure the possiblity that this is not so. Therefore abortion MUST be wrong and it has to be the single most important issue in their lives.

- Only because he was kindly asked to take a back seat until Obama wins election. If that happens, then he can be in the front seat again! It''s a farce

- Wright is mad at Obama, so I doubt it. Besides, Wright is retired and not preaching anymore.

- To these fundamentalists, it is all about abortion. They save fetuses before our soldiers or children starving in third world countries. They scream about the agony of an aborted fetus, but they feel no agony for a little girl trying to walk to a feeding center with a buzzard waiting behind her? There are so many arguments about what does a fetus feel. Nothing until the spinal cord and nerves are generated and we don''t remember it or the first two years of our lives. How many of us remember being a fetus? I am not advocating abortion or murdering fetuses, but I am saying that there is plenty of suffering to go around, and this obsession with abortion is bordering on a bizarre fetish with these people. It is causing them to vote people into office who then send our kids to war, our economy into the toilet and our houses into foreclosure.
