Laws banning text messages or use of non hands-free cell phones while driving are good it is not enough. Police have better things to do than to pull over text messagers. I think there should be a law that requires car makers to install signal jammers in every vehicle that prevent cell phone usage inside the car. The only vehicles exempt from this law are those that are equipped with OnStar or a similar system.

Other proposed legislation: Banning brain surgery while driving. Banning playing NBA Basketball while driving. Banning painting a masterpiece while driving. Banning designing the new world trade center while driving. Banning getting a nude massage while driving. Just a few ideas.

Like that will work. This state has had a cell phone use law for two years. After people played with wireless headphones the quickley went back straight to the ear as the noise in a car messed with wireless two way communactions so back to real they still drive around with it up to their ear. If you want to have fun with the cops who should be looking at more serious stuff in the first place carry around a kids fake cellphone a hollow plactic thing then ask them are you going to arrest me for holding a plastic toy?
