But Without Bridge, $25 Million Gravel Road Good For Just Road Races And Hunting

After the end of Sarah Mooseburger''s first term:
Dow 3000
Unemployment 20%
Foreclosures 25%
Twenty more major banks fail.
She''s re-elected in a landslide because she''s pro-choice and cute. - Reply to this comment
???????What is wrong with this? In any state but Alaska the people would be screeching if their state built a 3.2mile GRAVEL road costing $25million. My God, that is $8,000,000 a mile. And guess what, the rest of us paid for it.
If this is indicative of McCain and Palen''s economic plan for America we''re in deep trouble- Reply to this comment
- Palin''s hustle to stay above public opinion would be so funny if she were not in contention to be vp of the USA. She is exposing Alaska to ridicule and she and McCain are exposing the USA to ridicule. Her statements about cleaning up Washington and creating transparency in government are so laughable when she refuses to testify in a state investigation, nor allow her "first dude" to testify on subpoena, nor can she make their tax returns "transparant". She is like a lot of evangelical zealots, "believe me because I know God" and because "I know God, I can do whatever I want, but you cannot because you are a sinner." People like Palin and the McCain campaign zealots prey on the gullible.

- don''t people read an entire post before replying to it? If you read my post I was asking why another person was blaming the democrats for the poor economy when it is the republican in charge. Read things throughly before your post a reply bashing someone.

- The road to nowhere was opened by the Republican Party when Sarah Palin was chosen as McCains vice president.

- The only reason this bridge costs so much is because prices have gone up because the Democrats have ruined OUR Economy......Steel and concrete prices have Doubled in last couple years......

after all that''s gone one this week with the financials, etc...I am truly amazed to see posts on here, posted by raving idiots blaming democrats for everything under the sun. Moron - finally we have someone running who will try to help ordinary people, and not the rich, and you can''t understand that?? Amazing! - Reply to this comment
- Now McCain and Palin can travel down the road to nowhere and live happily ever after. They are two very scary people. God help us if those two get elected into office.

Pretty well sums up Palin''s qualifications to be VP or worse, pres. - Reply to this comment
- A road for road racing, hunting and "some" commercial development, how nice! Glad to see my tax dollars footing the bill for a fun road while the rest of the US transportation infrastructure including some bridges in Alaska fall apart. What great fiscal responsibility.

Are you for real? Surely you jest.
Who is responsible for the huge debt this country now has? Who is responsible for the spending of trillions of dollars in a war that never should have been while Iraq now has huge surpluses?

If this is true, it doesn''t say much about the republicans'' ability to run things when they are in charge, does it? - Reply to this comment
- Road should be named "Lyin'' Palin Blvd" since that seems to be her biggest claim to fame these days. No, I am not a democrat. Judging by what is on the Net, it appears that liberals hate her and conservatives, the religious right, Evangelicals and Pentecostal, love her. Alaskans are in love with her but it is a state with only about 650K people so that''s not much of an endorsement. Whoever coined the phrase, "lyin'' Palin" should be congratulated for their creativity.

- A gravel road 3.2 miles for 25 million. Can you imagine being a regular contractor and giving a bid for 25 million on a job like that? I don''t care what the conditions were, a 2 man crew with equipment could do that in less time than it took. Good old government ingenuity.
