"Get a *** life people, your the same idiots that would have us walking to work to save some *** polar bears ice. PETS ARE NOT HUMANS! Posted by stick1771"

Sounds like you''re sick enough to be in the military too. Hope your pit bull shows you the same compassion.

Put him in the military in Afghanistan. He''s mentally unstable and violent - perfect soldier material.

Knowing what I know about Joseph Petcka, I would have preferred the company of the Cat too.

cwazywabt: You''re talking about feelings, while I was talking about the law, which in this case what he did was clearly illegal. Let me say this: What you say is true as far as what people can do if their emotions get out of hand, which can result in bad things. But the "love" you refer to is a form of neediness, the need to control the other person''s behavior. If that person does not behave as expected then it turns into hate. Yes it''s ommon, but it doesn''t mean that it''s right. But you truly care about the other person, then once you see that they can''t be changed (which is 99.9% of the time), then either you accept it or you leave, because you wouldn''t want anything bad to happen to them, would you?

cwazywabt: All right look, I don''t know your situation so can''t pass judgment (which doesn''t matter anyway). But with the actor guy, if he doesn''t like the situation he can just leave. He doesn''t own her. Besides, this was an EX-girlfriend, so there''s no right whatsoever to do what he did, no matter how he felt.

You sound perfectly insane. There is no justification for what this creep did, jealousy or not.

cwazywabt: I see you still don''t get. As you said, hunting is legal, yes, for SOME kind of animals for SOME time during the year, and you have to buy a LICENSE for it. So no, you still don''t get to kill any animal any time you feel like it, especially when it belongs to somebody else. Get it?

I can certainly tell what type of people are typing comments on this article today. Those that love their companion animals and those that are not so fortunate to have known companion animals. To me it''s sad that you have people that would rather see the suffering of an animal as a "sport" than as it trully is. If this idiot killed a cat out of jealous rage, what would he do, or has he done to a person, or even a child for that matter??? No one ever stops to think about the future implications this could have.... Oh, boy, an actor, untouchable, he won''t be any harm to anyone again....as long as that person does what "he" wants them to do and pay attention to him and him only.... what a spoiled useless brat. I hope he goes to prison!!! Let him SOBER up and realize what he did wrong. Maybe then, he''ll grow the hell up!!!

cwazywabt: Killing any animal is a God given right? You are seriously messed up in the head. First, you have to have a serious insecurity problem to think that somebody must put you first before their pet.

Second, while an animal is not quite the same as a person, you don''t have any God-given right to kill someone else''s animal, anymore than you have the right to take a baseball bat to their car.

truly, this article was about a man killing a cat..what don''t you understand about that? that was the heading, you chose to read it,,why didnt you skip this and go the the affairs of the world?? I don''t like baseball, have no interest in it, so why would I read any article about the cubs?? But I like animals, so it would make "sense" I would respond to a 6''3'' man killing a cat..so I think the keyword here is "sense",,so I''ll leave it at that...geez Daisey

Hate to burst that Overgrown Bubble you have....you said animal...God gave us dominion over all the animals...and all you animal rights people want to take that away..... I love cats and dogs and other animals too....but killing them for any reason is a God Given right....

*** I''m glad I don''t believe in the same God as you! Just because God gives you rights above animals, doesn''t mean you should kill them for no reason!

Petcka, who''s trial began on Sept. 17, 2008, claims he killed the 7-pound feline out of self-defense........ I don''t know how good an actor he is, but he sure is a horrible liar! Cats don''t attack people for no reason! Petcka should get even more than 2 years for killing a cat! I love my cats, if he tried coming near my cats I would beat him to death!

Who really gives a flying kitten about murdered pets? they are disposable. One dies, go buy another one, or adopt another one from the shelter. How can *** like this make international news? We have so many other issues that are worth discussing and CBSNEWS posts garbage about someone killing a stupid rag with legs? This must have been an intern testing his reporting abilities! Can we discuss why is it that Savings and checking accounts in the middle east have such competitive interest rates that no other bank in the world can touch them? or what will be the effect when banks in the middle east start using the Euro instead of the dollar? Please CBSNEWS, get a grip on reality and promote discussion and educate the masses by providing inteligent reporting not garbage, especially when it comes from the AP first.
