The truth hurts, doesn''t it? It isn''t so much that the U.S. hasn''t changed in the way it educates its citizens but the rest of the world are not only catching up but doing so much better. So this policy of education being an individual responsibility is really a dereliction of government--it''s like punishing your citizens if they don''t try hard enough to obtain a good education even though that ends up hurting our competitive position versus other economies.
I''m reasonable. You think that''s correct and sensible education policy. So yes vote GOP. More of the same. - Reply to this comment

- Dear slime1h2o,
Oh no! Cut down by a NEOCLOWN posing as a Hillary supporter. You guys are so good at lying I''m surprised you didn''t notice how incredibiy transparent it was. But I bet you believe McCain''s lies, too. WE sure as h*ll don''t. Is gullibilty something all REPUBLICAN''Ts are born with or do you have to be taught by your candidates and talk-show loonies? - Reply to this comment
- I agree, one of the greatest presidents of the United States of America. He holds the record for the highest approval rating of any president so far.

- In a discussion of a Major Disaster, you''d ALSO want to include the guy who started a war which has sent all the National Guardsmen AND THEIR EQUIPMENT to Iraq, leaving the USA woefully unprepared to deal with disasters here at home. Hmmmmm...who would that be?
Oh, huh, that is ALSO George Walker Bush. - Reply to this comment
- Hillary_FTW2...? Right. If you were for Hillary, then I have a beautiful home to sell YOU in Galveston (I apologize in advance for that reference). Anyone who TRULY supports what Senator Clinton advocates could no more vote for the REPUBLICAN''T presidential ticket than John McCain can tell the truth. Sara Palin stands for NONE of the programs that would help women achieve equality in this country and belongs to a church that proudly espouses the subservience of women to men. You pitiful REPUBLICAN''Ts who try to pose as HILLARY supporters are so transparent. Just more lies from the supporters of the the GRAND OIL Party.

- In a discussion of a Major Disaster, you pretty much HAVE to include the guy who gutted FEMAs funding, fired all the experienced disaster planners, put a Polo attorney in charge of FEMA, and shut down the ongoing efforts of FEMA to develop a workable, large scale Hurricane disaster plan:
That would be George Walker Bush. - Reply to this comment

- Self righteous morons. This is a story about a Major disaster and all you can do is debate politics. You people wouldn''t rescue your own grandmother from quicksand, much less pay attention to the needs of others.

- The discussion boards for Galveston are filled with victims saying that they are paying 5$ a gallon for gas to get to/from the remains of their homes....all while the Republicans have BLOCKED THE BILL THAT WOULD DROP GASOLINE PRICES 1$ per gallon overnight: The closing of the Enron loophole which allows Wall Street to trade Oil futures without any regulation, monitoring, or disclosure. This has been the ONLY reason for the price run up in the last year..since the supply of crude has actually INCREASED, while the worldwide demand for crude has been dropping since JANUARY, and passed 40 year lows in MARCH....even as the Wall STreet oil traders drove the price to 145$ a barrel.

- "Is this your example of thoughtful, adult commentary? You make a whiney 14-year-old look articulate."
Well, actually, that IS my adult commentary, along with the posting of the GOP blockage of the Bill to close the Enron loophole.
Also, you might want to realize that one can be made to "sound" articulate.....not "look" articulate.
Glad to help you with your vocabulary there, dear GOP-masquerading-as-a-Hillary-supporter.
Cheers. - Reply to this comment

But when a natural disaster hits,, who do you call?
"But when a natural disaster hits,, who do you call? The Maytag repairman?"
Dear slime1h2o,
I sure ain''t gonna call YOU or anyone you support, (You know, the people who ARE responsible for the deaths of 4200 men and women and the maiming and wounding of tens of thousands of others. The same people, incluiding John McCain, who voted AGAINST the Veterans Bill).
BTW, we are not LIBS, NEOCLOWN. We are LIBERALS- try to find a negative definition of the word in the dictionary. Oh, but I guess you would have to OWN one to do that...- Reply to this comment

- Again, we see the thoughtful, adult commentary written by people who have had enough of the idiocy of the last 8 years, while all the GOP comments look like they were
written by a drunken 14 year old racist. - Reply to this comment
