Sounds like YOU ARE ready for the new world order. WE WILL force you from your home, kill you or at least use the force to get you out, then you can go back to whatever is left from looters that had no homes to be forced from. Makes good sense to me??? Maybe we could even build camps for the people we force from their home to be kept in? Then when we get tired of spending money to rebuild we could just leave people in these camps instead of rebuilding. Good world we could have. Welcome to the new world order! - Reply to this comment
- Note to rowdy6680: If you feel that way, why not back a law which mandates rescue personnel to ignore the pleas for help from those who did not heed a mandatory evacuation order? Or does my question reveal the sheer idiocy of such an idea?
People do not want to leave their property especially where the fear of looting or theft might be present, such as cases like this. Laws aren''t going to stop that. You and I both know that it''s common sense that your life cannot be replaced, but sometimes we must realize that when these things strike, common sense sometimes goes out the window. By the way, I''m from Houston. - Reply to this comment
- Well, it''s good to see people work together to achieve a good worthy common goal. I''m just waiting to see, sad to say, how those will link any mishap back to the Federal Government as though they didn''t do enough. "It is the fault of Bush, and this is what you can expect with McCain... is that what you want?" But don''t look at me as the party pooper here... when you got the likes of Michael Moore virtually praying a disaster hits before the election.

- Either the news are all over these storms now, or they''re just getting worse! I love the sea, but I''m changing my mind about moving close to it when I retire. It''s pretty scary and heart-breaking what these people have to go through every year!

- My prayers are with the medical personnel, fire personnel and law enforcement personnel who must now risk their own lives because of people who refuse to evacuate and then whine and cry that they need help. Nothing that you own is worth your life, or the life of someone who must now rescue you.

- With as much warning as there was about this, and though I can understand why some would not want to leave, it is quite irritating that rescuers are spending their time having to rescue those not smart enough to follow a "Mandatory Evacuation"...such a waste of resources. In the future, I actually hope "Mandatory Evacuation" is enforced forcibly in situations like this. My prayers are for those still out there in need of rescue, but it did not have to be this way. I applaud all the rescue efforts and also it''s a shame that valuable resources that could be helping elsewhere have to spend time to rescue those that were either too stubborn or not intelligent enough to understand "imminent death" and "Mandatory Evacuation". Perhaps next time such a storm is heading toward the US, EVERYONE in it''s path will listen and the rescue efforts can be directed at recovery instead. Perhaps this seems cold to some, but they were warned and did not heed the warning.
