Ike is at Galveston, right at the mouth of the bay. Hurricane force winds are occurring now from Freeport to Sabine Pass.

Power is out here, I''m running on battery. Wind is still strong, but no rain yet.

And the board is full of political spew and "God is punishing..." Some folks really need to grow up.

Why is it that no one talks about the atrocities committed under Stalin?

I went to a gas station because as usual on Friday afternoon at the end of the week, I was nearing empty. The sign read 3.449 for regular. Because of the hype, lines were much longer than usual. So I paid, pumped and when I left, the sign read 3.599 for regular.

I''m nowhere near Texas. This is gouging, plain and simple. Gas up 15c/gal over a period of 10 minutes or so. Just happy I got the 3.45 stock of fuel. I guess the person behind me paid 3.60.

One thing is for sure, its not a good time to be an illegal alien crossing the Texas border and there are 1000`s a day making an attempt! I wonder if there are plans to help the illegals crossing over?

Notice how Obama''''s lips are sometimes blue, sometimes a healthy brown? That''''s a sign of drug use.

Pray and Read the Word. This will help you very much!

I choose not to read your Satanic literature. It allows you to get away with lying. My Bible on the hand condemns a liar like you.

Any Act of God that oblitrates Bush''s ranch and his oil-rich Texan GOP base is Ok by me. Normally I''d like to hope that the innocents are ok, but since you collectively unleashed Bush on the world TWICE then perhaps you should collectively pay. Wake em up Ike !

trishab58: The Demoncrats support murder of unborn children. The support popularizing homosexuality. Their candidate, Barack (K.C. Arab, backwards) is accused by Larry Sinclair of cocaine use and homosexual activity.

*** Of course, how much is McCain going to "shake things up" in Washington, when his Republican handlers override his decisions on a whim? ***

After seeing the way evangelical Christians lie and send people to hell for not voting right, I wouldn''t be surprised if this weren''t some punishment for the Bible liars.

The eye of Hurricane Ike is 50 miles across.

An area about four times that size, filled with solar thermal collectors, and positioned in the American desert southwest, would produce enough electrical energy to power the ENTIRE united states, no other power source required.

Solar thermal collectors were invented in the 1800s.

Maybe fossil fuels has nothing to do with the size of Ike. But, why take a chance?
