I know politics aren''t going to be able to fix anything. They are just worried about how they look in there expensive suits and money. Nobody has control over anything in america anymore face it. May GOD be with you!!! and one more thing it doesn''t matter where you live there is always sometime tornadoes, earthquakes, hurricanes, blizzard so again get real you can''t tell me there isn''t something dangerous almost anywhere you go in the desert there are scorpions, swamplands alligators, everybody has poisonous snake and spiders. so where are you suppose to go that is danger free

- I cannot believe some of you are are complaining and blaming politics when people are are endanger of losing their lives. I am sorry to break it to you but no matter what political status someone might be they are not powerful enough to create a hurricane get over it. ... just a thought maybe this is a punishment from god look at the world today it sux; nobody hardly is happy. Then we have those of you out there that are so insensitive that you are debating about politics instead of worrying about all the people who are facing hurricane ike and could possibly lose everything they have. - Ike is at Galveston, right at the mouth of the bay. Hurricane force winds are occurring now from Freeport to Sabine Pass.
Power is out here, I''m running on battery. Wind is still strong, but no rain yet.

- I went to a gas station because as usual on Friday afternoon at the end of the week, I was nearing empty. The sign read 3.449 for regular. Because of the hype, lines were much longer than usual. So I paid, pumped and when I left, the sign read 3.599 for regular.
I''m nowhere near Texas. This is gouging, plain and simple. Gas up 15c/gal over a period of 10 minutes or so. Just happy I got the 3.45 stock of fuel. I guess the person behind me paid 3.60. - Reply to this comment

An area about four times that size, filled with solar thermal collectors, and positioned in the American desert southwest, would produce enough electrical energy to power the ENTIRE united states, no other power source required.
Solar thermal collectors were invented in the 1800s.
