Republican Put-Downs Of Obama's Work Helping The Disadvantaged Riles Activists
- "Obama, the Democratic presidential nominee, has often talked about his three years as a community organizer in Chicago."
He sure has. What he hasn''t talked about is what he actually did during those three years, other than grease the wheels for Tony Rezko and register Democratic voters.
Community organizers should be outraged not at Republicans but at Obama himself for giving them a bad name. - Reply to this comment
- IS OBAMA NOW IN AGREEMENT WITH GW BUSH. LOL...you cant make this stuff up!!!
But his backtracking didn%u2019t stop with the surge. Obama went on to say this about the War on Terror, and I quote for accuracy:
Bill O''Reilly: "Do you believe we are in the middle of a War on Terror."
Barack Obama: "Absolutely."
Bill O%u2019Reilly: "Who''s the enemy?"
Barack Obama: "Al Qaeda, the Taliban, a whole host of networks that are bent on attacking America, who have a distorted ideology, who have perverted the faith of Islam and so we have to go after them."
Then he changed his stance on Iran:
Bill O%u2019Reilly: "The next President of the United States is going to have to make a decision about Iran whether to stop them militarily, because I don''t believe, if diplomacy works - fine, but you''ve gotta have a plan B and a lot of people are saying look Barack Obama''s not going to attack Iran...
Barack Obama (interrupts): "Look, look here''s where you and I agree. It''s unacceptable for Iran to possess a nuclear weapon. It would be a game changer and I''ve said that repeatedly. I''ve also said I would never take a military option off the table."
So there you have it. President George Bush, Senator Barack Obama and Senator John McCain now all have similar position on Iran. This complete reversal on foreign policy could undermine the anti-war base vote he needs to win. His coalition needs the anti-war message to hold together. - Reply to this comment
- REPUB(SAYS) If Obama Community organizing is something special why is it the city he organized has skyrocketing crime rates?
McCain thinks the same way. without even the intelligence to "Address" the issues, how can one "REDRESS" the issues? - Reply to this comment

- Last month, a New Mexico TV station reported on the child rapists, drug offenders and forgery convicts on ACORN''s payroll. In July, Pennsylvania investigators asked the public for help in locating a fugitive named Luis R. Torres-Serrano, who is accused "of submitting more than 100 fraudulent voter registration forms he collected on behalf of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now to county election officials." Also in July, a massive, nearly $1 million embezzlement scheme by top ACORN officials was exposed.
ACORN''s political arm endorsed Obama in February and has ramped up efforts to register voters across the country. In the meantime, completely ignored by the mainstream commentariat and clean-election crusaders, the Obama campaign admitted failing to report $800,000 in campaign payments to ACORN. They were disguised as payments to a front group called "Citizen Services, Inc." for "advance work." - Reply to this comment
- With benefactors like Obama in office, ACORN has milked nearly four decades of government subsidies to prop up chapters that promote the welfare state and undermine the free market, as well as some that have been implicated in perpetuating illegal immigration and voter fraud. Since I last detailed ACORN''s illicit activities in this column in June (see "The ACORN Obama knows," June 19, 2008), the group continues to garner scrutiny from law enforcement:
Last week, Milwaukee''s top election official announced plans to seek criminal investigations of 37 ACORN employees accused of offering gifts to sign up voters (including prepaid gas cards and restaurant cards) or falsifying driver''s license numbers, Social Security numbers or other information on voter registration cards. - Reply to this comment
- Isn''t the PTA a community organization?

- It was community organizing that resulted in the creation of a new country called the United States of America. It was community organization that moved us temporarily out of dollar a day servitude, community organizing that helped end the Vietnam mistake, community organization that gave women the right to vote. Dr. king''s community organizing helped put America on the path of Civil rights for all Americans.
And it is community organization that has helped the poorest of the poor refrain, for now, from resorting to anarchy to deal with the problems of poverty.
A church is a community organization, as are the campaign organizations that have put the current candidates where they are now.
Basically the Republicans are saying "Eff the little people".
When we, the "little people" say "Eff you in return", I think those who once called themselves Republicans, whose party and agenda will be extinct, will finally understand the gravity of their antisocial attitude. then an extinct party - Reply to this comment
- Let me clarify something. Nobody is mocking community organizers in church basements and community centers across the country working to improve their neighbors'' lives. What deserves ridicule is the notion that Obama''s brief stint as a South Side rabble-rouser for tax-subsidized, partisan nonprofits qualifies as executive experience you can believe in.
What deserves derision is "community organizing" that relies on a community of homeless people and ex-cons to organize for the purpose of registering dead people to vote, shaking down corporations and using the race card as a bludgeon.
As I''ve reported previously, Obama''s community organizing days involved training grievance-mongers from the far-left ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now). The ACORN mob is infamous for its bully tactics (which they dub "direct actions"); Obama supporters have recounted his role in organizing an ambush on a government planning meeting about a landfill project opposed by Chicago''s minority lobbies.

- Hmmmm weren''''t the people who got togther to write and sign the Declaration of Independence Community Organizers?

no, the people who were down at the Tavern whining about the British taxes were "community organizers". That''s the point. Every single person who claims to be a "community organizer" could actually be a a) landlord who provides affordable housing to people, b) cit councilman who actually gets things done for people, c) small business person who provides jobs to those communities, d) policeman or emergency tech who provides service to the community, etc.
But they are not. They are not people who do anything actually.
If you want to provide affordable housing, why not start a company and begin a rental business (remember real estate with no money down). Or how about Brack "Rezco" Obama and his friends put up some of their own money to start a business to provide jobs in those communities.
They don''t because it is a fake job, a big lie, a bunch of liars who grab government and NGO funding and basically do nothing. Liek all Demcrats. its talk and smoke and bullcr@p by the most selfish, spoiled, lazy individuals in our society. - Reply to this comment
- If Obama is proud of his Community Organizing, why doesnt he speak of the work he did with terrorist Bill Ayers, Annenberg Foundation and Woods Foundation. Are these not part of his Community Organizing. What exactly did Obama do?? Can he tell us what type of organizing that he did. Or is it most of it was done with terrorist Bill Ayers. Can the Obama Media please become responsible jounalist?

- For the last 8 years, with the tax cut and incentives from the government, I was able to build my business, hired people and help my community prospered. With the profit from the business, I was abled to put my kids thru college, buy investment properties and spend money in my community to spread the wealth. My kids are now back in the community and contributing with their new found skills learned from higher education...

Sorry but I do not believe you. Unless you are providing low paying jobs. There is not one person I know that is working with anything other than a Skeleton Crew. Companies have cut their workforce through attrition and layoffs and most workers are doing the work of 2 if not 3.
name your company please so I can see your History.

- This is worth repeating.
Someone needs to remind Palin and the others: Jesus was a community organizer; Pontius Pilate was a governor!

- I had been recently thinking, that with all the horrific things that has happened to this Nation, Both parties leaning Far Right, The Dumbing Down, of
Entertainment and News Media. Criminalizing the Justice System, Police, and Military. One thing arose during all this Depravity, that would make any human proud. Jimmy Carter''s

Nice try.
What it shows is that she''s following the slander over substance method of campaigning we''ve seen utilized by the Repubs for the last decade.... - Reply to this comment

- Barack Obama is already the leader of this country. when they said he couldn''''t raise the money to beat the clintons. He turned to what he knew best. Community organization grassroots and networking. He lead and was so successful he raised millions of dollars. So then the clinton followed asking for small donations via the internet. Even the GOP on their website is asking for small contributions. bBaracks platform has been about CHANGE HOPE and BELIEF from day one, he lead. Mccain went from STRAIGHT TALK to Country First and Change, sound like he''s a follower too. Which is why Mccain is going to lose this election. Followers can never lead.
