Comments on: Gustav Churns Toward Empty New Orleans
Record 1.9 Million People Flee Louisiana's Coast; Cat-3 Hurricane Set For Midday Landfall
- Ajaxtheleast But with that comes compliancy the next time the warnings come Much like a car alarm. So many go off for no reason no one even pays attention anymore. This was not intentional because for still another day nobody knows for sure. Only the hurricane knows where its going and how strong it will be at this point. How many will head the next warning

- Still,,, wouldn''t it be funny, along with
being welcome, for Gustav to hit land with
a cat 2 force, drop an inch of rain,
blow over a cop, turn into a tropical AND
GOP depression then turn into a warm summer
breeze and head back out into the atlantic
there-by not only f-ing up the RNC convention
but also their effort to use the plight of
the area for a propaganda boost?
It''s just been announce that Gustav WONT
REACH CAT 4,, and with hours to go who knows? - Reply to this comment
- The message Ray Nagin sent out today was finally the right one. A storm is coming, get out, you''ve been warned in plenty of time, and, if you stay, do not expect city service (or rescue) to be available to you until its it safe for others to do so.
All warnings in hurricane-prone areas should be the same. If you stay, you pay the price. If you can''t afford to leave, you shouldn''t be living there in the first place. So, LEAVE and GET OUT OF HARMS WAY!
This is serious business. I think people got the message this time. I hope so. Best to everyone in Gustav''s path. Thoughts and prayers are with you. - Reply to this comment
- twixcon,
Thank you for reminding me how evil some of my fellow Americans are. Wow. Next time you look into the mirror, kiss yourself since you are the perfect person.
When will this country learn? I don''t know. - Reply to this comment
- Some people never learn. These sub-sea level people will probably relocate and build houses on mud cliffs in CA, or maybe little shacks at the edge of Mauna Loa.
I wonder if they''ll call the white folks "scavengers" again and the black folks "looters".
I wonder if all those dependent slug still to lazy to move out of FEMA huts will wish they had lent a hand in rebuilding the levees instead of watching soaps and collecting government checks. The good news for these folks is that IF Obama gets elected their "sit on your *** checks" will be about 3 times larger!....and Obama promised he will put an end to hurricanes! (one of his more believable promises, actually) - Reply to this comment

And like last time, it won''t matter if any of the platforms or refineries see any major damage....the new high price should be good for the next 9 months. - Reply to this comment

I think you are a little bit of a whackjob. All I was doing was letting you know that the hurricane might not remain a category 3 and I was giving you the information that I found. I thought I was doing you a favor by letting you know. In reality though, you must be pretty d-amn stupid because if you had been reading any of the articles on this website over the past couple of days, you would have known all this. If you haven''t read anything then you shouldn''t have been posting any facts at all! What do you do? Make it up as you go along? - Reply to this comment
